Hi.i own 2 7200 and 1 7500 lrp big mamma batterys for 5 months and always looked after them the same as my other batterys.all 3 lrp batterys is now so fat they wont fit in my xray .Anyone els had this.thanks

- Are you racing or bashing?
- What charge rate are you using?
- What motor is installed in the car? How is it geared?
- Does your ESC have a low voltage cut-off? If so, where is it currently set?

Hi.i use them for racing 1/10 touring cars and run for 5 min.using a 13.5t gm motor with hobbywing esc with turbo.charging at 6a as my charger cant go higer.speedo cut of is on auto but never cuts out.i use all my batterys the same and i have a demon 6800 that is over 2 years old with no problems.do not know what to do with theas batterys to get them usable again.thanks

I have a LRP 7000, that puffed after a couple of charges. Never had issues with my other batteries (Orion and TP)

Once a battery puffs (which yours have), it's pretty much a ticking time bomb waiting to explode. It's time to retire those packs and replace them. Sadly, I've seen the same behavior from the recent batch of LRP packs sold in the US; must be a bad batch of cells...

My personal experience with LRP can be summarized as follows: LRP = (L)ow (R)eliability (P)roducts... Try a different battery manufacturer, and you'll most likely have a better experience.

I have 2 of those packs and have about 30-40 cycles on them in Mod touring car without any sign of puffing. I think yours is probably part of a bad batch perhaps? Ive used LRP lipos for a few years now with good results.

I run LRP/Nosram too, usually swell around 6 months or less, I run 6.5t touring with turbo, running time are 8 minute, never discharge below 3.7v/cell and with 9 amp charge . sadly, there isn't much choice of good battery in Taiwan, IP swell even faster. I am out of choice too.

I have 3 LRP Big Mama 7200s. At first they seemed like a good cell-- good punch, nice build quality--very balanced when charging.

I would use a different pack each qualifier, balance charging at 8.0-8.5 amps, and never running them down below @7.8 v. After about 5 race days in 17.5 sedan ALL 3 packs puffed/swelled equally to the point where they would not sit flat and splitting of the case became a serious concern. That is when I retired them. 5 RACE DAYS for $345 of lipos! OUCH!

Frankly, the LRP cells are hella expensive for what you are getting--a listed 50 or 55c and 4mm plugs for $100-$120!! I had heard the horror stories about LRP cells being junk but I insisted on getting them because I wanted a "matching" factory looking setup--ESC, motor & cells, but since I don't get my stuff for free I realized that was a half-assed reason to run the cells.

I am sure there are people who have good luck with LRP/Nosram lipos, but I am not one of them and for the price they cost you can do WAY better IMO.

phil ,if your interested i have a set of those 7200,the ones i used at the wlrc nationals,they did 4 meetings total and put into storage at 6.7v,£90 for the pair,im still using my hpi plazma 6500 been using them for 19 months and still show no signs of swelling,although they have dropped a volt or 2, ill be getting the hpi lipos again when i feel i need to change them
are you letting them cool down before you recharge them?
i had the same problem with some shorty ip lipos

No thanks.ill stick to the demon batterys.never have troble with them an makes good power.should have never bought them.still learning.stick with what u know my dad always said.

yes exactly, because the same time I bought the LRP's I bought 2 Reedy 7000's as well, both were looking like puff pastries after 5 cycles
