Despite being the best layout inQld for EP racing it has to be said that the surface leaves a lot to be desired these days.

Anyway congrats to the winners and grinners and looks to me like Fraser Coast and Logan might be neck and neck heading for the Bayside third round inAugust.

It's become apparent that the Interclub needs a revamp and we need to get our heads together and see the way forward for 2015 and beyond.
I totally agree with all this, and it nice to hear that it was still great to be there.

We are a very small club; and it's not easy for us to stage an event like this, so nice comments like this makes it all worth it. The stage of the track surface is a major embarrassment for us; but we think that the club is close to getting funding approved for re-surfacing, so we hope that the situation with the track can be fixed.

How good and dedicated are the guys from the small Fraser club to compete with the bigger clubs like Logan and Bayside? Although I would want my other club Bayside to win the challenge this year; it's simply awesome to see!

And on behalf of SCRCCC; sincere thanks to everyone that came and participated, and to those that volunteered to help.

I hope that reforming the Interclub format will be looked at, and that we can have a sensible outcome. I would like to see Fraser Coast running one of the rounds; and altough my passion is Gas cars; and the sad fact is that gas car drivers apart from Taynton and Coops, have not been doing enough this year so far.

I know that the last comment is controversial; my thanks in advance to all hate mailers.

Kindest regards,
Lars.
Secretary SCRCCC

P.s. Sorry about not having an update of club points; but Shane Hyde has offered to help out with it. He should be updating tomorrow on this forum.

Should that be the 16th and 17th of August, Heavy?

I think a revamp of the series might be a good idea. Perhaps we could arrange for the relevant parties to meet some time before the Bayside round.

Probably right 16th and 17th August.

I believe that the Brendale club have declined to be involved in the Interclub any more and the fact that they ran a race meet today in competition with it would tend to confirm that.

So it would be fair to cancel a race meeting for the 1:8th scale IC and 5th scale bike drivers for an event they cannot enter in? The current committee at Brendale are very interested in finding solutions to these issues so that our club can be actively involved in the inter club series. That will not happen however, without discussion between all of the interested parties.

Not at all (if thats what it was although I don't quite see how SSF and Pro Tourer appeared in teh results if they didn't run)- serves me right for listening to heresay that Pro Tourers were running yesterday at Brendale. Good to here that the club committee are interested in getting back into the Interclub.

At the end of the day, the drivers have voted with their feet and they have shown that the status quo is not working for them and their needs. Pointing the finger at Brendale and blaming them for the failure of the race meeting is really over looking the crux of the issues that racing in SEQ faces. When you have the Potaotheads and Lards of this hobby in decision making positions, it is no wonder no one goes.

Just go back and read the last 2 pages of this clown car crash, it highlights everything that is wrong with RC in QLD. And becides, no one is racing gas, anywhere. Go and look at the race results on MyRcm and see for yourself just how many poeple are not running gas.

Without the Pro Tourers there would be no marshals or pit crew. The SSF is included on the IC day so that the children of IC drivers and the guys that turn up to help run the meeting (that don't race gas cars) have a class to race. I agree that it is not ideal to run a meeting on the same day, but in the end we have a responsibility to all of our members first and foremost.

+10

Could not agree with this more. It's a bit like asking Coles not to open on the same day as Woolworths. We do live in Australia where we have free trade.

Brendale is the biggest and best club in SEQ. SSF the premier class in my opinion, with the biggest numbers, the best drivers and a Qld Titles every second Friday night. Why would you want to race anywhere else?

That's all fine and I have no problem with any of that - I was simply pointing out that the Brendale club is not committed to the Interclub and everything that has been said supports that.

Maybe this is valid if you see clubs as being in competition with each other.

But if you want to grow the capacity of every club, grow the sport in general, grow the r/c community (the reasons interclub started in the first place), then it's maybe be more complex than that?

That said, I don't think the conversation is about one club and it's choices. The whole scene is different and many issues to consider.

As to your other question...why wouldn't everybody just race SSF at Brendale? Nice bit of troll bait there!

Scotty, I don't see the clubs working in competition with each other I just think they need to work together more vigorously at the start of the year or as soon as racing ceases over Christmas to really put firm dates in place around clubs known events .. I don't think I can recall when the officials from every club (seq)be an aarcmcc or orrca club sat down with there calendar plan for the year in one room it's always been a case of this club race this week that club races that week and have no idea what other events are on a clubs calendar for the year.. As you know yes gas is a bit thin ATM and some of our drivers commit to interstate championships and national championships and our Friday nite drivers are only in for a fun nite and getting them to commit to an event like an inter club may not happen when they don't want to race elsewhere and I'm sure the other clubs have members that only do race only their home inter club .. Now I see Fraser coast lurking good on you guys get in there so me thinks get the officials in a room early decide the clubs classes ect be the way to go ... Cavey...

Hi Scott

Have you ever thought to give SSF a try? We're racing this Friday night and would like for you and Heavy to join us if you're interested. Like Cavey said, it's a fun night.
