You ran in the 18's Kraig? 18.8... bring it! haha.

Just kidding, the truck was a great looking truck. Really impressed with yours. And wasn't Greg Hodapp running a new SC6 too?

I couldn't get that low like you did. But in buggy, did you get down to 17.949? The setup I have on it right now is very easy to drive which should make for a decent starting point for someone.

Yes, Greg was running the SC6 as well.

Overall, I finished building the truck at the track on Friday and got two practice runs with it by the end of the day. I ended up qualifying 7th out of 40+ trucks and finished 4th in the 7 minute main. My times were right there with the leaders but I was not consistent enough.

I will post my setup in a day or two but my electronic layout is as follows, servo, receiver, square pack, speed control running rear motor. With that layout and a Pro-Line body, with a lot of paint on it, I was 100 grams overweight.
good job with the sc6. would like to see your setup, too. just curious, what advantages did you see with the square pack? thanks

The more I look at my setup and the more I look at Cody Turner's setup I am pretty close to his. Everything in the front is the same except for the Ackerman Ball Studs, I used UM128's. I don't think you would notice much difference to be honest. The 128's are the same ones used on the rear camber links.

For the rear I ran top shock in the 3 hole on the tower, 1.0 Rear Suspension Holder Spacer. The wheelbase was 4mm F 2mm R with 0 degree Alum rear hubs using hole 3, axle spacer 2mm out. Aluminum option suspension mounts, b in on both front and rear for 3 degree toe. 1mm spacer under the camber links, both sides.

The shocks were the same, stock pistons, 37.5 front oil with orange spring 27mm shock shaft length but 2mm spacer inside. The rear was 32.5 oil, red spring, shock shaft length was 35.5 total and then I added the 3mm spacers on the outside of the shock.

Tires were Pro-Line Ion's in MC compound. I used WD-40 spread on with a tooth brush but cleaned them with water and simple green first.

I ran a square pack but never ran a shorty so I am not sure how different the truck would have handled. As I mentioned before about the electronics layout, servo, receiver, battery, speed control.

Haha, I was running my RM buggy, and never looked at a fast lap(and liverc wasn't 100% updated yesterday) hahah.

You were hustling the truck for sure and when you were right on my rear it was looking rock steady(i think i was watching yours instead of mine, haha). I think the shorty would have helped make that kicker up onto the table just from a weight standpoint.

Have you stated what gearing you were at? What is the tranny ratio on these things?

When I was following you I had to lift a couple of times as I didn't want to nail you in the rear, like I got Chris Sanchez at the start because I couldn't see through a radio. Then I had a few bad laps to let you get away. When that happened you were able to drive your lines without having to defend your position and I couldn't catch up! Maybe we shouldn't build our trucks the week of the race.

Internal ratio is 2.6. I was running 75 or 76 spur with a 26 pinion in it.

In regards to the kicker, I wonder if cutting it short in that corner before it and running over top of it as quickly as possible might be faster than swinging wide and trying to clear it.

The next time I am at the track I should let you try it and see what you think.

Broke a rear arm, no parts listings exist. Emailed Kyosho waiting for response. Can I use SCR or Rt6 rear arms and just lose the third shock mounting hole. I would assume since the truck uses narrow mounts and the same offset wheel the rear arms could be at least the same length as the scr ones which I could just order on the intern, so I'm not SOL.Thanks for any info guys,

I have yet to find a difference between the RT6 Rear Arms and the SC6 Rear Arms. I would love to know what the difference is. They have the same 3 holes and are the same length.

This might make perfect sense since the rt5 and scr shared the same rear arm but the front arms were different lengths. Since the rt6 arms come as a front and rear set it's most likely sc6 and rt6 share rear arms but diffent length front arm so now I just gotta order rt6 arms and pray I don't break a front anytime soon. Thank you very much for kick starting my brain today!!

Front arms are the same on the SC-R and SC6, rear arms from the SC-R are the same lenght but don't have the 3 hole for shock mount.

Yeah, the front arms are the same on the RT5, RT6, SC-R, SC6... However, what I am still waiting on is for someone smarter than me to explain why the RT6 and SC6 has a different parts number for the Rear Arms but look identical to me. I may have missed something but they both have the triangle/3 holes and the same length. Anyone out there know what I am missing?

RT5/RT6 front arms are not the same as SC-R/SC6, the RT arms are about 1/8" longer then the SC.
The arms for the RT and SC are packaged with one front and one rear. Because the front arms are different the part number is different.
