So I've been wanting to convert one of the two buggies to electric. I already have a Mamba Monster 2200kv and 2x 4s 5000mah turnigy batteries. I know it'll be hard to get parts for the hyper7 to convert and the rc8.2 has great support. But I can get the motor mount for the hyper made by brother at his machine shop.

What do you guys think? I'm leaning more on the rc8.2 but I like how it runs with the nitro set up I have on it right now but then I lean towards the hyper because it has a lot of room to run 2s batteries on each side or one 4s

I would go with the RC8.2. I had a Hyper 7 and it was a durable buggy, but it is old now. A motor mount is also $40 tops for a one time purchase. I wouldn't base buying a buggy one way or another off of that. I would pick the RC8.2 based on its parts support and track record. Plus, it sounds like you already have experience with the RC8 series.

Well I run a RC8.2e and see a lot of guys convert RC8.2 since nitro is dying around here. I like OFNA but I have to say I had no major issues with the AE. I hit a pole at our track at full speed head on and I only stripped some front screws so I can say that the RC8.2e is very durable. Can't really say anything about the Hyper since nobody races one at our track. So my vote is also for the RC8.2

Well gents I got bored yesterday and started to take the ofna apart. Then one thing led to another and I went to my brothers shop and a made motor mount that came out really good. I'll post pictures later.


But I think I'm going to convert both. My brother is offering me a Turnigy Trakstar 120a esc and a 2300kv for 50 that he got of HK so I'll put that on the ofna and the MM on the RC8.2

By ther way I didn't not cut or drilled any of the stock parts. So I'll be able to go back to nitro.

Well there is the hyper 7 homemade motor mount and industrial Velcro to keep things tight. I just need to figure out how to run the wires and those 2s lipos are just tempo.

See if you can get the lipos closer to the centerline, but don't touch the driveshaft. The car should handle better.

the motor should be on the other side ! near the sterring servo. check out the hoabao hyper ss wich is mostly based on the hyper 7 ! ( same transmission )

when i do my own aluminium motor mount, I use 4 screws to hold the motor, not only 2 as usual. when you have the choice to built it yourself, you can !

what center diff is that ?

See I was thinking that the motor should of gone on the other side idk what got me doing it for the left side. I think I'll make another one and just change the whole diagram of the buggy. But other than that I like how it runs and jumps right now.

The center diff is original. It's a spyder came with the buggy. It's the hyper 7 PCR edition. With the lay down servo.

So the mounting holes on the bottoms of the chassis place match up to the motor mount then because that's was my problem with a hyper lx2e motor mount did not match. And I know monster rc makes some but I was just in a mood of making one.

There it is. A bit front heavy but it runs good. Just need new tires on it now.
