Default Can't bind 4PLS to R304SB

I've done everything in the manual but they won't bind. And the only way I get the LED to light up on the RX is if I hold down the SW button while turning on my Vorza. If I don't do that, the LED will not light up at all on the RX?

I tried flipping the ESC / Servo connectors around on the RX and immediately get a solid red LED (not connected properly) so I know I have everything connected properly.

Here's what I'm doing as per the manual:
  1. Put the TX into DISPLAY menu
  2. Chose RX MODE
  3. Type is T-FH NORM
  4. Turned on the Vorza
  5. Scrolled down in RX mode to LINK: EXE
  6. Clicked on the LINK:EXE for 1 sec *gives 20 secs. countdown beeper
  7. Held down SW button on RX. The LED on the RX does nothing and I get an error message on the TX after 20 secs.

Next I tired this:
  1. Put the TX into DISPLAY menu
  2. Chose RX MODE
  3. Type is T-FH NORM
  4. Scrolled down in RX mode to LINK: EXE
  5. Clicked on the LINK:EXE for 1 sec *gives 20 secs. countdown beeper
  6. Turned on the Vorza
  7. Held down SW button on RX. The LED on the RX does nothing and I get an error message on the TX after 20 secs.

Finally I tried this:
  1. Put the TX into DISPLAY menu
  2. Chose RX MODE
  3. Type is T-FH NORM
  4. Scrolled down in RX mode to LINK: EXE
  5. Clicked on the LINK:EXE for 1 sec *gives 20 secs. countdown beeper
  6. Turned on the Vorza while holding down SW button on RX. The LED finally flashes red but nothing happens and I get an error message on the TX after 20 secs.

The TX and RX antennas are 3-4in away. I also tried touching the antennas together by doing the 3 different steps above and I get the same results. I've read the manual over at least 10 times and I don't see what I'm doing wrong. Before I return it does anyone see any errors in what I'm doing?

Turn your radio off then back on again. Is it in the proper rx mode or do you have to switch to it each time?

Try this guys.

Remove Steering servo and ESC.

You want to bind Tx and RX only. Use the battery cage(AA batteries that come with System) to power up the RX. Follow 4PLS manual. Hold down button on RX till grn LED. Turn off TX, connect Steering servo & ESC. Then Calibrate your ESC as to ESC manual if needed. Most Brushless motor has to be done.

Good Luck!!

Some ESC's won't arm until they show a signal, and that includes powering the receiver beyond the initial check to see there is signal (so rx will power up then off in a second or so) It's a fail safe thing. To bind any new receiver I use an external 2s life pack (6.6v) and bind the receiver that way, usually solves any binding gremlins.
