The final races are 8 minutes long. However, the qualifiers are only 5 mins. The odd thing is there's only 2 qualifiers rather than 3. Which kinda sucks.

The facility is top notch, and a lot of top drivers race there. The race circuit is on the second floor, whereas the first floor has a dedicated hobby shop and a drift circuit. Interesting fact - Japan largest R/C class is drift racing.

Mini Z is quite popular too, and it's a load of fun to drive. I've driven it a couple times and they handle quite well.

If you have any question about Japan and it's r/c scene let me know.

1/12 21.5 is very, very, very popular.

The drivers in the other video were a mixture of local track guys and sponsored drivers. This video is a mixture of newbies and regular joes and they are running the same setup as the faster guys.
What sort of rollout do you use for tack that size in 21.5 2s?
They looked pretty fast when I was at Yatabe last year.

Rollouts are in the range of 70-80 mm. Varies from motor to motor. They are quite fast indeed, lap times were in the 12.000 second range and the track is quite large.

On Crc cars like the xi and older and on other cars using the Crc front end those shims will work because they use a plastic spacer between the arm and the chassis that has a flat surface. On the xti the front end doesn't use those same spacers so the arm actually sits down into the front suspension plate. The area you shim on the xti is much wider on the xti than just a 8/32 screw.

Default 1S blinky 10.5

What should motor temperature be for 1s blinky 10.5 for 8 minute races?

Thanks

I would say 140-170 F is a good range. Anything above 170 F might be of a slight concern.

I'm picking up a Yokomo R12C3 this weekend. Any build tips or suggestions? I've been over to the Yokomo Thread and read Mark Stiles and Paynes posts. Is there anything else I need to know?

Cheers.

Hey, does anybody have any spare ride height bushing thingies for the rear of a Speedmerchant car? (also, tweak springs, I don't have any of those, but it runs fine without them)
I don't know much about 1/12, heck, I don't even race on-road, but my friend gave me a speedmerchant rev5 roller as payment for letting him stay at my place for a week...
I'm running a 2S shorty (had to raise the shock), and a Tamiya silvercan, it's a ton of fun to drive!
The rear end is just down SO LOW, I want to get ahold of some of the offset bushings so I can raise it up a bit so I don't scratch on every tiny pebble I drive over...

I almost feel sort of bad "bashing" this car, but it's a ton of fun, and I tried selling it, nobody wanted it

The good news is that the tires are holding up WAY better than I expected.
I've put almost 3 whole packs through these tires on old chunky concrete and pavement, and besides one little bit that's cracked on the edge of one of the rears, they look perfect.

With the "Shorty" packs that are out now, I am really surprised 1/12 has not gone to 2S batteries. Wondering why everyone only talks about doing this with a 21.5 or slower motor? With the amount of 17.5 or 13.5 motors already out there I would think those with a 2S battery would be a blast. 1/12 is suppose to be a FAST class. Mod would be insane, but AWESOME

If you've read any of the above posts, or even looked at some of the videos I've posted you'll noticed it's alive and well in Japan. It's a thriving over here in Japan.

Have you even raced 2 cell 21.5? Have you seen one going around the track in person?

They're pretty damn fast in my opinion. I've raced 4.5 1 cell and the speed difference is not huge.

13.5 or even 17.5 is overkill for 2 cell, let alone running 1 cell.

Hi guys,
I haven't a huge experience with these cars so I ask for a simple problem.
My crc xl has more steering on left corner than on the right ones.
I reverse the battery position but nothing happened. The Car on right turn had lots of understeer even on power, instead in left turns the car simply get istantly lose at the rear.
What can I check suspension balancing? Weight balancing?
Thanks for help

Your car is probably tweaked. Do a search on you tube for on point tuning, there is a great vid showing how to find it and fix it!

Tweak indeed is probably the problem.
Also, check the amount of steering left and right.
If placed on the track an pushed forward. Both left and right circle should be equal.

I was originally running a Trinity 21T brushed motor... but... um... yeah, too much power.
I had to go down to the least torque-y motor I own, hence the silvercan. It's much more suited for 2S driving
Of course, I need far less power than racers do, because I'm on an unprepared, ungroomed surface, and obstacles come out of nowhere! haha

I have a LiPo chassis on the car, but my shorty pack is BARELY too big to fit into the slot, which is kind of a bummer...
