Kyosho Ultima SC6 Thread.......
#152
So, I got to hold a SC6 this weekend and see it on the track. Not gonna share who's or what but this I Know:
1.) It was first built as a Mid-Motor and I don't see that EVER being needed. If you thought of steering, it did an 180.
2.) It was quickly moved to Rear Motor and those that dove it said it was amazing but really had to make allot of changes to take steering out. Or calm the steering down. For those of you that have a RB6 and a RT6, you will probably admit that the RT6 has more steering than the RB6. Well, the SC6 has more steering than the RT6.
3.) The body that was on the SC-R fit perfect on the SC6 without having to have new holes.
4.) Same rims that were used on the SC-R where the same rims on the SC-R.
5.) The chassis looks forever long and has the most holes I have ever seen for battery placement. Incredible tuning option for battery placement.
6.) IT IS BEAUTIFUL!!!
I can't wait to get mine!!!

Has made me want this even more though

On the steering note I wonder if the narrow setting of the caster in the hub carriers has made a small difference considering the RB6 & RT6 are wide settings on the kit build?
I run these wheels they come in white or yellow and the white can easily be dyed.

From what I can remember it calms down the steering but doesn't take any away.
There is more to it though and I need to do some Googling to fresh my memory.

Last night's point serise race had 18 sc trucks, I quilified 3rd in the A with my SCR-SP. I ended up 2nd behind a TLR running mid motor. The infield of the track (high bite wet clay) has a lot of tight turns and I just could not keep pace with the mid motor truck. That said I plan to build my SC6 mid motor.

Yes it has. Talked to my guy and said he is tracking his shipment scheduled for today.
So during my RB6 Build I used Avid axles off the bat. Using Avid they are supposed to run most if not all of the 3rd party wheels seamlessly. Apparently, if using the factory Kyosho axles the 3rd party wheels had to be bored slightly larger with a reamer to work.
Think we'll run into any fitment problems with the SC6 kits?
I'm just trying to have my ducks in a row before the kit gets to me.

As for the hole, I only did that on my SC wheels as a means to prevent breaking an axle. Now I don't know if this was 100% proof that it prevented an axle break but it sure helped my conscience level. Or it could have been just a bad run of axles. Now I just open the hole a little more just so I can easily put on my wheels and most of the time that isn't needed anymore.

My friend is sponsored by Kyosho....his truck arrived today. Its pretty awesome. Its being built MM. I have a Centro based SC10.2 and its the best RC I've ever had. Part of why I like it is the adjustability....the Kyosho is just as good or better and has Kyosho shocks....can't beat that! Mine won't be here till next week!
