Kyosho Ultima SC6 Thread.......
#121
I just bought the RB6 and dig it so far. Man I really want one of these -- for some reason the aesthetics of the SC5 didn't really appeal to me, have no clue how it performs. It also seems the RB6 platform has many good things about it, I can't imagine the SC6 will be too far off.
So I have had the DESC210R and a DEX210. Loved the fact that it shared some of the same parts -- total benefit in many ways. I travel lighter being the biggest and also the familiarity between setups.
Price tag is the only thing holding me back right now but it seems everything in the box is all you need. Just add tires and a body and go, also not too sure I enjoy short bus racing lately.
I'll be hanging out here for a while. Something tells me I'll be an owner of one of those soon. Darn it.

Also, I hear all the time that Kyosho is too expensive. That I cannot really argue with. But the quality that you get and the no need to buy extra parts to get it race ready makes up allot of the difference over time. How much aftermarket parts did you have to buy for the DESC210R? I have never owned one, but if it is like most other vehicles, I am sure quite a bit.

Well, the SC-R along with the RT5 was simply amazing vehicles. I had my doubts that the RT6 could be better than the RT5 but it was and is. I'm saying the same thing now about the SC-R and the SC6 but as good as the RB6 and RT6 is, I expect the SC6 to follow suit and be simply amazing. I agree that the parts interchanging is awesome. Other than rear arms, side guards, body mounts and chassis, there is no really anything different than the RT6. EXCITED!!!

Just an observation from the fast guys at the track it seems they rarely add parts for the sake of durability or bling. They run close to stock as much as possible staying within the factory tolerances.
In talking to people they love Kyosho because of these tolerances mentioned above and also how the tolerances (slop) remain the same after weeks to months of drive time. They curse when it comes to other big companies developing slop after a weekend of running. That says a lot and I'm sold on Kyosho -- hope my wallet is too. We'll see.

So yes I did pour another +200.00 into it with quality stuff like Exotek to make it bulletproof and ahem add bling so I too am factoring that into the equation. It seems my mindset is changing as I get more wheel time into my toys. I find that adding parts for durability has positive and negative affects in things like geometry and stiffness. I "PLAN" to keep my Kyosho cars close to stock as possible since I know this company along with the others put a lot of effort into R&D.

I asked on the A-main Hobbies thread on here when they thought they would have the kit, and gere was the response...
Hello kevmtnbiker,
We should receive the Ultima SC6 within two weeks. I just spoke to Kyosho and it looks like the middle of the month. And, we should get them a few days after that.
Thanks for shopping with us. Please pre-order one so you can make sure you get one of the first kits.
Regards,
Jason

I just pre-ordered. Total impulse buy but the RB6 is so darn good, at least for me.
Looks like I'll be getting rid of my DESC210 although it runs so well. I finally got it running so it does what I want it to -- overall a tough decision, the Durango is a SC good truck.
Would y'all agree the aluminum chassis on the SC6 is longer than the RB6 counterpart?
