Default Shame on Hitec

Excuse my rant: buyer be warned:

So I was looking for a charger that could do more than 6 amps on AC. Enter the new Hitec X1 MF. Advertised all over the package that it runs at 80W as high as 10 amps. Great I thought, perfect fit, the price is right to make this a second charger and I can get closer to 2C charging rates which will help out when I am racing with the kids and I can turn charging times over faster. 6amps wasn't cutting it for the newer 7000+ mah batteries.

Well the bottom line is this: always read the fine print. Charging at 10amps is not capable when using the AC power - neglecting the cost savings are requiring a DC connection - had I know I would have bought a much better DC charger.

The fine print on the box barely readable for my old eyes says 50 watts only on AC - doesn't even mention the amperage.

So FYI - if you are looking for AC charging rates over 6amps - this is not your solution.

Rant Over: Basically you can buy other chargers with the same AC capability at a much better rate - and I there is no benefit with the DC aspect as it's capabilities are limited for DC operations...

Considering the NEW Hitec X1 MF came out almost a year and a half ago and sells for like $80, it seems more like someone didn't do their homework.

if you are racing you don't need to be using such large cap batteries anyways

There's a ton of guys who run 4x4 SCT that would disagree with you

7000+ mah? Who needs that much for racing, even larger vehicles like sct and ⅛ e buggy and truggy?

I run 4wd SC and generally run 6500mah. A couple tracks running 10 min mains there is no way a 5000mah would last
