Default rs pro speedo issue ?

I have an rs pro speedo, was at a race tonight and needed to adjust it due to a loose track and got it into tune mode, made the adjustment but the speedo would not exit tune mode on its own after the 5 second wait like it is supposed to. So therefore it would not save my settings. Is there a way to manually get it out of tuning mode? I don't have a laptop to use my hotwire yet, so that is not an option at this time. Any tips or tricks? Is there something wrong with my speed controller? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Can you get into tune mode and not change anything, then see if it will beep and take itself out?

Did you have just the car on and not your radio?
Sometimes, you will need to recalibrate the speedo to your radio and then everything will be ok.

Sometimes a simple reset is all it needs.

If you cant figure it out, get ahold of Randy Pike on here in the 1/10 electric off-road section "Tekin threads" or try the Tekin forum. He is pretty active on these and is very helpfull.

Yes we reset the speedo to factory settings last night and I ran it like that. But it has no drag brake that way I guess and I like to drive with the d.b. setup. I have not tried to go into tuning mode since then either. Will try when I get home. What is the proper procedure to get into tune mode? And do I do it as soon as I turn the speedo on, or wait till it arms to get into it?

Did you "recalibrate" it? Max throttle, max brake, neutral?

Turn on controller.
Turn on Speedo
Wait for beeps.
Make sure steering and throttle work like normal.
Push and hold set-up button untill it beeps and goes into tune mode About 3 seconds)
Select desired adjustment and adjust to where you want it.
When done, dont touch anything untill it beeps and resets itself.
Lather, rinse, repeat

Well, now I can't get into tune mode! If I hold the mode button down it just goes to radio calibration! What the heck?

Well, I can only adjust it in pit tuning mode for some reason. But at least I can adjust and save my settings. I just hope this thing will work with my hotwire when I get to use it! Thanks for all the help.

Sounds like its working normal to me. If you hold the menu button down it goes into calibration mode, if you just press it once it goes into tuning mode.

If it is not acting right in your opinion I would hook it up to a hotwire and replace the firmware on the ESC. Even if you are at the latest revision overwriting what was there will eliminate this being the issue.

Me! LoL I thought I had to hold down the mode button to get into the tuning. If I just hit it as I was told today it works fine. I'm an idiot. That's all.
