Enduros , would prob be the best all round choice for Shorties, as they work well on all the tracks, and very long lasting.
It would certainly make it simpler to race away from home.

Last year we looked at going to a control for all classes based on the success of the SCT Tour. Not all clubs were in favour (which is necessary for a change to CS rules), and the idea was dropped. Through last year a number of people newer to CS racing asked about a control tyre to make it easier for them when going away. So there is a desire out there.

A single control tyre for the whole series worked well for the SCT Tour, and it also works well for the Pro-Line Interclub IC OFR series which has 5 rounds. I would hope that the Tucks again have the benefit of this concept, and that in turn it produces a re-examination of the concept for Buggys.

Ok I've emailed the head of clubs for feedback regarding the control tyre requests from racers. As Daniel points out, if all the clubs come back with a yes vote then we'll go ahead with it, it doesnt have to be for both classes either, if the stadium guys want it left open, we can still run SCT as a control tyre or the other way around.

In the mean time I've been in touch with Josh Pain at Ryper and he will have enough enduros in stock so people will be able to have tyres for the first round and of course he'll bring more in to cover the rest of the year. The best thing to do is buddy up with a couple of people and save yourself some postage. I'd ask that people don't "Stock up" big time, just get enough to cover this meeting and that way there'll be enough tyres for everyone

Im following up the stadium truck tyre situation with NBHC also.

Cheers

Mikey

OK I've heard back from the clubs (thanks to them all for contributing so quickly) and unfortunately we can't get a control tyre across the line this year. We had problems in whether there should be a control tyre and also which tyre it should be. So as per original post, tyres are open for all classes. It's something to campaign for next year though. Keep talking to your club reps and others in your class. If it's sorted early enough then everyone has time to try the tyres etc

cheers

If you're serious about this, I would pick a tyre, probably the AKA tyre suggested because Mikey has already done the leg work with Painy. Then get a petition drawn up and take it to all the SCT drivers at the first round. If you get a sufficient portion of the field for your liking then give the petition to the Club Reps and ask for their reconsideration for Round 2.

Welcome to the 2014 NSW Club Series thread. After a lot of discussion and a final meeting this week the four clubs have come to agreement over the format for this years Club Series and there are a number of big changes.

Due to the ever increasing entries this series has been experiencing over the past few years all the clubs involved in running the event (Castle Hill, Maitland, Ryde and ST Ives) have agreed to run the series in two parts this year, trucks on one day and buggies on another. Trucks will be run on the warm up meet leading up to each club’s buggy day, which is expected to be the key focus of the series. This means we will be able to offer SCT Pro2 10.5, Stadium Truck 10.5 and Pro4 Open Motor (2S only). All classes will have individual trophies at the end of the year but only Pro2 and Stadium Truck will be part of the overall club points. These meets will be held in concurrence with the normal club meets leading up to the Club Series but will have 3 Heats and 3 Finals and entries for these classes will take preference over other classes and will be $25 per class as for the other Club Series classes.

Entries for the Club Series Buggy days will be limited to 14 heats and there will be 3 x Qualifiers, 3 x A Finals, 2 x B Finals and 2 x C Finals.

During the Inter-club Shield there will be a Junior Driver Trophy in both 2WD Stock and 4WD Stock; Juniors will race in their own heats. More details of this class will follow later in the year.

Each meeting will Start at 8am with a Driver’s Meeting at 7:45am.

A new facility will be loaded onto the Entries Page at NSW Club Serieswhere you MUST pay by PayPal for your entry to be accepted; there is no way around this and there will be no exceptions. Once you have paid for your entry you will be on the entry list. There will be no waiting list so it is first in first served.

As with all major meets there is no cross entering between Stock and Mod classes with the exception of the Truck Classes.

The Points System will stay the same as it was last year using the MotoGP method,

1st 25 points
2nd 20 points
3rd 16 points
4th 13 points
5th 11 points
6th 10 points
7th 9 points
8th 8 points
9th 7 points
10th 6 points
11th 5 points
12th 4 points
13th 3 points
14th 2 points
15th 1 point

The only exception to that will be when a class has 10 or fewer competitors, the club points will be allocated using the F1 points scoring system however the drivers point allocation will remain as the MotoGP. No dropped round.

Entry fees will remain the same as last year: $25 per class.

Dates:

Club Series Round 1, Castle Hill: Truck Classes – 16th March; Buggy Classes – 30th March

Club Series Round 2, Maitland: Truck Classes – 18h May; Buggy Classes – 25th May

Club Series Round 3, St Ives: Truck Classes – 17th August; Buggy Classes – 31st August

Club Series Round 4, Ryde: Truck Classes – 23rd November; Buggy Classes – 30th November

AARCMCC NSW State Championships, St Ives: TBA - September

Interclub Shield, St Ives: June or July (TBA)

If the link ever breaks just go to the AARCMCC website. We run AARCMCC rules, and the rules on the CS website are just a link to those.

The rules on the AARCMCC site are slightly out of date as it happens. They are from Jan 2013, and there has been an updated set produced since then, but it isn't published.
