We're striving to make the best parts possible--something that would give you a performance advantage over other racers!

We're looking into a creating a shock tower that creates a performance advantage, and currently plastic shock towers tend to flex too much--plastic is a possibility and we're just focused on aluminum at the moment

Kewl...makes sence....i just kno how serious racers get when they see aluminum lol, they think "bends to easy" but if your design will be around trying to eliminate this, then i am sure it could be good just my 2 cents lol

The inherent structure of your design should eliminate flex significantly. There's not a huge flexing issue as it is.

Composites are good

Default Sc10 steering servo install help

Hey, I have a sc10rs rtr and decided to to upgrade the steering servo, the local hobby shop recommended and sold me a Tactic tsx40 servo, and I have some questions. I took out the stock one, and realized the gear was larger on the new one so I couldn't use the stock arm, is this because it is not the correct servo I should be using? Also, it came with some white plastic arms, so I tried one of those and I couldn't get my ball joint to screw into it, as the hole was too small. I mocked up the stock arm with the servo installed, and it wouldn't fit as the top gear on the servo stuck out too far in comparison to the stock one, the arm was hitting the bulkhead, or top plate. I am very new to this hobby, so If this description makes any sense, is there something I'm missing or doing wrong? Or is this simply not the correct servo? Thank you

Pick up this servo arm set. One of those should fit. Various brands of servos have different splines, kits normally come with the full selection of arms.

The arms and disks that come with servos are mostly for airplane use. Cars need a stiffer arm, frequently they are vehicle specific.

I just talked with the design firm Segla! http://www.segla.biz And we will be posting a video showing how we carve out the MachoCave Shock Tower

So stay tuned

Looking forward to it (and the price tag!) I work in an aerospace based machine shop, (shop floor is 30,000sqft+) so my comments stem from my many years of experience in 3/4/5 axis machining and 3d modeling. Good luck to you and your project though!!
