Will a more expensive charger make a difference?

I suspect you will be right, you tend to do the little things right, like making sure all the drivetrain is as free as possible etc, so a few extra mah/fractions of a volt wouldnt make any difference to your lap times.
(my extra turnigys and tyre balancer is still in the post somewhere

You didn't order the batteries & balancer from the global warehouse? I'll have mine with me on Fri night, and they also balance F1 rear wheels nicely (a little bit fidley).

I haven't tried to balance F1 front wheels yet, as I think the bearing would also have to be in the wheel at the same time to get the balance closer than having no bearing in??
Also, just a thought, could even try the different battery chargers with one of my older packs (12+ months) to see if it makes older packs perform better too?
That could be another plus to spend the extra $ if it can prolong the batteries "working" life.

The first one interests me because you can control it with a smart phone, and you can set the end voltage - although I'm not sure if that is a good thing or not.
The 2nd one due to it's compact size, high charge rates and end voltage setting (see above).
And the 3rd one appeals to the geek in me with the pretty touch screen, motor & servo tester, ability to hook up to a PC to give more options, and free shipping.

If your in no real big hurry keep your eye on the second hand market, I picked up the t5600 for $40 bucks not long ago. I haven't got around to trying the motor tester yet, so I can't comment on that.
