thinking of going outside the box
my local track never has an etruggy turnout
the guys have them but do not bring them
im usually stuck running nitro class but cant make the 15 minute runtime
anybody running lower kv motors and more cell lipos?
does the extra weight hurt balance and geometry?
i always ran 4s on 2000kv truggy

Try running the 1350/6S combo with mechanical brakes. Should be efficient enough to make 15min if you drive conservative/smooth.

What battery are you using?

When I ran E-Truggy back in the eary days of 1/8 electric I was using a 6000mah 4S 25C (yes, 25C) lipo at the time so I could consistently make 15 minutes. In general I got about 18 minutes of runtime regardless of conditions, this was with a castle creations 2200Kv motor.

I would suggest one of the 4S 6500mah batteries available as they are relatively cheap, or, if you want maximum runtime, give a 7200mah 4S lipo a look.

Experiences can vary based on driving style and conditions, but I would be very surprised if you burned up all that mah before finishing your main of 15 minutes.

And the reason I recommend that on 4S versus higher voltage / lower Kv setups is if the class gets going by you, it could be that they would only allow up to 4S.

I used to run my 4, 8 KG RC8T with mamba monster 2200 on 5500 4 cell for 14 minutes.

So you really should not need more then 4S to get 15 minutes with a lighter more efficient truck.

i had gens ace 5000's
now i have smc 5100's
didnt want the heavy heavy batteries
and at big races its always 4s
ill just get 4s and hopefully turnouts will be better!

honestly, at best with 5000mah packs like that I would make about 13 minutes guarenteed in 1/8 buggy.

You really want at least a 6000mah or better battery.

And since this is a truggy, the extra heft really won't make a difference between the 6500mah battery and 5000ish batteries you are using, especially if you using a truggy motor.

Its your money for sure, but I would hate to buy the wrong battery and have to rebuy anyway versus just doing it right the first time.

in a rc8t with a 1350 on 6s 5000mah it will make a 30 minute main with the proper driving and esc settings

+1 for sure. Just keep a series connector on hand so you can run two 7200 2S packs if you ever feel like you need the extra runtime in a pinch. Our e truggy class will grow by 1 as soon as the ET48 order link pops up

would love to see E-truggy make a comeback here.
