I have to agree here...I absolutely love the Clocked Blast V12 and feel for $300 or under there isn't a engine that can match it anywhere...Not only is the blast a great performer on the track, its also as stable as a rock.....The engine will idle on pitlane after a qualifier for as long as you want, you never need to blip it or worry about it...The fuel mileage is awesome, most racers easily exceeding 10 minutes in Buggy.........The power delivery is very smooth and yet the engine is fast enough to run toe to toe with my modified Bonito......All over a fantastic engine and one I would put against anything and have great confidence the Blast would more then hold its own every category.... power, RPM, mileage, idle quality, ease of tune and lifepsan........its so well rounded that it just does everything right.....With the short needle RB carb its also super easy to tune............Another thing about it is that the engine is more then smooth enough for use in Buggy, in fact it makes an awesome Buggy engine, yet it has the power to effortlessly push a truggy...the heavy crankshaft keeps the power delivery smooth even tho the engine makes really strong power.......

Neal, i have a question i need some help with. I found three old Rs5 sleeves in my bag of used up engines. I have messured them and the timing is very close to the P5 we have today. But, theese sylinders have ports under the schnurleports, what wffect does theese ports have? I do not have any pistons for them so i am just curious.
Thanks for your help.

This has been a great engine to learn to tune with. I am still way off from being good, but on a few occasions the motor acted a little weird and I was able to fix the tune pretty easily and get it running right again.

they breakin like a Picco it seems...more of a longer slower breakin...the engine runs good early, but really doesn't open up till a good gallon or so of racing is under its belt....

I am planning to keep carrying this line...they keep changing the numbers on the head but I am so far not seeing any meaningful changes to the internals....

Just wanted to throw out some much-deserved feedback on my Clockworks P5.
I have the original version, before they offered the Buggy and Truggy specific modded models.
I am running mine with a P4 O.S. plug, Werks 2058 pipe, Werks Clutch with 2 carbon and 2 aluminum shoes, Novarossi double sealed 17011 front bearing, and EBMods powerplate. I am at 4000 feet elevation and take .05 out of the shim stack and mix Byrons to get a 32.5% nitro content - this does add some noticeable power, especially if there is a jump that requires precision to clear.
I am on about my 20th race day with it and I am still as completely in love with it as I was when I first got it going through it's first gallon.
It loves to be run at 240 degrees. If it is below that temp, it's not all there power-wise. Use a Comp-Heater or do what you have to do to get it to that temp to get it there so you aren't running the first two laps of a race still warming up the engine.
The EBMods backplate only changed the engine a little. It idles perfectly (it idled really good before) and idles down a bit quicker when you come off the throttle.
The power and RPM-runout is just great. I consider myself an amateur driver and this engine just works great for me. It is always easy to tune - usually just a few hours on the high needle and idle adjustment. I also think that it's acceleration allows me to make time on cars in front of me that are being driven by better drivers

Neal could not have been any more honest when i was inquiring about the RB blast. He told me that it was a great engine with characteristics that i have been searching for in a nitro engine. I.e. runtime, realiability, steady idle, ease of tuning, and longevity. After weeks of debating on whether to buy another nova engine or try something new i decided to buy the blast. What can i say other than WOW!!! The thing absolutely hauls tail and runs more consistenly than any other nitro I have ever ran. I am able to get great runtime with it and still blow the doors off people running much more expensive engines. I will second what Neal says about the strong idle as well, the thing just runs and runs with no throttle input. I have never been a guy that gets 10 minutes to a buggy tank due to my leadfinger but with this engine i do believe i will be doing so in mains in the future. After extensive testing i can run 10 minutes with my current tune and the thing is only temping at 230-240 degrees. Im going to lean it on out a little and solidify my 10 minute pitstops. I currently own one of these engines, but i just placed an order today for 2 more of them. Neal told me they are a limited production run and i want to make sure i have mine for the next season of racing. In my experience with Clockwork Racing Engines i have to agree with everyone elses opinions of the company as a whole. Neal and John run a great customer service end of their business, and well you all know, the magic Neal works in the shop is second to none. I am a 100% satisfied customer and team driver and i look forward to building my relationship with this company. Thanks for everything guys.

This years Southern Indoor Championships in Alabama is done and over and i would like to thank Neal for a awesome motor. I run a clocked P5 in my Truggy and has been flawless all season. Finished 2nd in Truggy with my Clocked P5. This motor was a beast all weekend on a 2058 pipe.
