I'd still like to see Hara run this car in the ETS and then at the worlds. Everyone else would be fighting for second ... lol

Hara can run a shoebox at the worlds and everyone will be fighting for second... He seems on form.

Volker still looks untouchable though.... Maybe if Hara puts a 2.5t in his Awesomatix, then everybody else will be fighting for third behind his shadow....lol....

I'm going to be running the GD2 for the first time tomorrow @ Horsham RC. I'll be providing a report on Sunday.
Awesomatix USA will be placing a stocking order for the GD2 this weekend! Pre-orders are being accepted to get inline for the new hotness...

Hey guys, I need to get some advice. I'm thinking of picking up a NIB EX that I get get a smoking deal on. Is the EXL still good in 17.5 blinky on carpet? What option parts, if any, would I need to consider to make the car more suited to blinky carpet racing? Does any one have a 17.5 carpet setup they could share for the EXL, all the setups on Awesomatix USA for the EXL seem to be for mod or asphalt.
Thanks in advance!
Thanks in advance!

Hi Oleg, I got 12 pairs of P18/19 Ball Joint S for my 2 cars, but when I tried to snap one onto the ST03 balls they are too tight. What shall I do with them?

1. Adjustable 5,0mm reamer for ball cups. This tool is popular among RC helis pilots for adjusting of the side-play in the ball joints.
2. Flat jaws pliers. Please see the pictures.
Swage few times circle-wise the the outer round surface of P19 with ST03
inserted to get the desirable side-play.

Thanks Oleg, will try out the clamp method. It seems that the ball socket is a little bit smaller than that of their longer counterpart though.

The L and EX chassis are very similar. The L is a little more free (loose) than the EX --- but that hasn't prevented A-main appearances at two of the largest TC races this year.
will know more mon/tues when the machine shop response.

Few things....
1) there seems to be a bit of slop between the ball studs and ball cups. Is this normal or anything of concern?
2) I noticed one rear ball stud likes to back out. Being this kit is a lot of metal into metal, is it good to use blue loctite, or just keep double checking them?
3) my spur gear came loose today! Again, something that should just be checked often, or did I not do something proper? On my way home I was wondering it it had to do with my use of push brakes today.
4) after a not minor contact with another car, my drive shaft came out. Is this normal also?
I really enjoy this car so far. So many others have inquired about it and probably placing orders since I got one.

2. I dont use loctite. Just be sure to tighten that ballstud tight (screw with force as oleg says ). If I was going to use loctice, it would be just a very small amount.
3. Again, be sure to get it very tight! It may help here to rough up the surface of the nut so it grabs the gear better, similar to knurled wheel nuts. I use more push brake than anyone I know and have not had issues. If you run mod, you may also want to look at getting the spur damper, it uses a clamping hub to hold the spur on, in addition to helping smooth out the throttle response.
4. I would replace the spring clip on the front input shaft, it should not easily come out, even in a not so minor contact
