Top work to the club for getting the councillor involved, channel 9, the logan magazine and any other PR they've accomplished.
Thanks Shane, the only way is forward and we will keep working hard to make the track and club the best it can be.

Huge thanks to Adam and Mike for making the long journey over to oz and allowing our racers to race, mingle and pick your brains for tips. The way that both of you conduct yourselves on and off the track is amazing and second to none. We look forward to seeing both of you next year along with some of your friends.

To the boys from across the ditch we thank you for heading over from New Zealand to support the event and our club.

To all that travelled interstate we hope you enjoyed the event and will sign up for next year.

Massive thanks to the few hard workers of our club that put in the hard yards.

Looking forward to next year !!
Great job to everyone involved with putting on this event, you guys rock!! It will go down as one of the most enjoyable events I've done, (and I've done a few)! DP.

Couple of last thoughts on the event from Finals Day: actionrc.com.au

Thanks for those that interacted on twitter over the weekend. It's a fun way to cover a race and I hope we can expand that kind of coverage in future.

Thank you for the footage, it is awesome.

ANybody else that has footage or photos can you please shoot me an email - [email protected] as we are working with our local council to promote the sport but also improve the facilities so it will all help. Also if anyone wants to send through some thoughts on the event it would be great to hear from you all.

Thanx for the kind words Peta. Just to backup wot Darren said...Yes,that was a fantastic race meeting. The club should be very proud of itself. Full credit to all who made it happen. It had all the intensity of a national title, but with a friendly atmosphere. I can tell you,Mike and Adam really enjoyed themselves, and lets make this an annual event. I totally enjoyed myself, and of course we will be back....Steve Perry

Default The Wrap Up

Good Morning all,

What an event!!!!!!

So many people to thank!!!!

Firstly both Scott and I would like to thank the Meakin Park Club for there huge effort leading up to the event. While there were many who helped out before and during the event, we would like to make special mention of the following people for makinig the event happen

Len
Peta
Dean
Luke

Without these 4 people i do not believe the event would have happened.

The event itself was a huge success from so many angles, the media exposure alone has truly put RC Racing and Meakin Park on the map both locally and internationally.

The event has also helped seal the approval and support of the Logan Council which can only mean bigger and better things for the club.

Both Adam and Mike had a fantastic time and are truly itching to come back next year.

Some interesting figures for the event were

Over 20,000 laps on the track for the 3 days
Over 10,000 litres of water were sprayed on to the track for the 3 days
Over 400 litres of fuel was consumed by racers

Scott and I would like to thank all of the competitors who raced at the Proline Thunder Down Under, a lot of money was spent by you to get to the event and without your support there would be no event regardless of all the hard work put in by the club.

We would like to thank the major sponsors Proline and Futaba for helping with the event. Once again without their support we would've have stuggled to run the event.

Finally Scott and I hoped everyone enjoyed the event from the track, the amazing new drivers stand, the food, the racing, Jame's amazing 3D Heli flying and just meeting some of the legends of our sport in Adam Drake and Mike Truhe.

Regards

Scott McBride and Mark Stringer

Awesome race meeting, well done to everyone involved in putting it on and all the racers and spectators who showed up.

I'm interested in hearing feedback from racers on how the control tyre format worked for you. I think this was the first time the concept has been run in Australia to the AARCMCC state titles schedule.

Thanks
