Default PowerLab 6 and CSS communication issue

Ok so after the PL6 working just fine at work and communicating perfectly with a Win7 64 bit PC at work when I brought it home and tried it on the XP laptops I have here I can't get the darn thing to communicate. I downloaded the drivers for the USB tether and even the troubleshooter app for it. The troubleshooting app locks up and the CCS software just always says "No Data From PowerLab 6".

I tried two different 32 bit XP laptops and neither would work. I will take it back to work tomorrow and my guess is it works just fine on a newer PC but per the specs it should work fine on what I have at home.

I did a google search and found others with similar issues but the trouble shooting they were suggested didn't work for me. Any thoughts?

I wish these companies would make their applications in a Mac version. Write it in C++ guys and compile it for whatever OS.

As an update I used the PL6 again today at work and it works just fine on the Win7 desktop PC at work. Tried again on my laptop (took it to work) and it doesn't work. I've reinstalled the drivers and the CCS software and nothing works.

I'm currently setting up a bootcamp partition on my MBP to see if that works. I'm gonna be pissed if it doesn't.

I've used the CCS on my MBA using VMWare and win 7 many times. Never tried with XP though.

Going to have to try that route...I tried setting up a bootcamp partition last night and it failed for some reason.

I'm such an idiot...I already had Virtual Box installed on my MBP with Windows 7 Pro. I totally forgot about it as I don't use it. Of course I didn't bring the PL6 to work today so I will have to wait until I get home to give it a shot. One concern I have is that I'm having a hard time getting the Virtual PC to read a USB jump drive. It sees it...I can select it...but it doesn't show up in my computer. I hope the FUIM3 adapter shows up.

And I guess running a virtual PC on my MBP is the answer. Just got it to work so I guess I'm all good.
