Sorry it didn't help. I'm not sure getting one repaired is much of an option these days versus trying to pick up a good opcndition used one.

Mine flaked a while back while doing a 10a discharge and I just replaced it with a TC 1030.

Hey guys, where is the fix for the yellow buttons on this charger sticking?

This worked for me: Take it apart, start by removing the end caps, then the front panel lifts off if I remember correctly. Work the buttons while spraying liberally with motor spray. Let dry thoroughly then reassemble. Did this to a pair of them and they have worked fine since.

I only used motor spray because it's what I had handy. Electrical contact cleaner of some sort would probably be best, not sure on the flux cleaner.

It would be if the pack started out empty , but if it started out half charged then no. The max capacity setting simply multiplies the capacity by the % and will not go over that amount of capacity when charging.

Does anyone know why this charger was discontinued? I mean, pound for pound, this charger has a heck of a lot more features than some of the "new chargers" out there. I just bought the 10 amp Team Orion Advantage Advance. It's pretty with the touch screen and all... But once you get over the novelty of the touchscreen, you realize that it has LESS features than the ICE...

The only thing that I don't get with the ICE that I get with the Advance is balance charging and 10 amp charging vs 8 amp charging, built in AC power supply, and peaking Lipos over 4.20 volts.

Some of the key features that the Advance is missing that the ICE has are 10 memory settings (Advance has none!), 10 amp "true" discharge not limited to voltage of the battery, temperature sensor (Advance supposed has this but it doesn't work). So I feel like I wasted my money...

Agree the ICE has some interesting features, I use still them for discharging. But no balancer is a pretty big limitation these days. They are also painfully slow on the CV portion of a lipo charge. Memory settings are available, a couple generation old Hyperion Duo3 has 20 per port for example.

I forgot to mention that to compensate for the "balancing" feature, attaching any cheap balancer while it's charging does the trick for me all the time. I use this, for example:

That will work to a point. But if a pack develops more than minor issues it won’t be able to keep up, and the external balancer can’t reduce the main charge current like a built in balancer can to prevent a cell from being overcharged.

Just out of curiosity, did it some with any specification for drain/balance current? I don’t see anything listed on the site.

I don't recall it saying. But it does tell you the voltage of each cell digitally so you can see if the cells are way out of whack. After a hard run on my TC or DEX, one cell would be much lower than another in one of my packs. When I hook it up to the ICE with this balancer, by the time the battery is fully charged, it's balanced. This is part of my heartache with my recent $200 investment in the Team Orion Advance. While the Advance would have been GREAT if I didn't already have my ICE + 10Amp power supply. The Advance is smaller than those two combined. So I at least gained some space in my bag...

Does anyone have issues with batteries puffing prematurely using this charger? I am still using mine after years of faithful service but I am starting to have too many lipo batteries puff/swell during their early life to be just coincidence.

Doesn't seem to matter what the brand of battery... I only race once a month but I am careful about how I look after my packs

Is there anything else I could be doing wrong to cause this?
