How long are the fuel and pressure lines? Might be a bit rich on the bottom also. Try leaning the lsn an hour or 2.

Have another tank to try? Or can u bolt it in another car to eliminate the tank as an issue?

As sshultz mentioned you are probably off on your LS needle setting. Your tank is normally pressurized with exhaust gases which helps force fuel into the carburetor. When you come in to fuel and open the cap it releases the pressure so there is less force pushing fuel into the fuel line which leads to the carb/engine so..... after a few seconds the engine burns through the available fuel pooled up in the engine and then gets to then becomes somewhat lean. This can be causing the issue. Or you can be slightly rich on the bottom and when the cap is being closed it is forcing extra fuel into the carb killing the motor after a few seconds.

To figure out which one it is you are going to have to play with the LS needle. Take the safest route and try richening the LS around 2 hours first and do a couple of pit stops to see if it continues. If it does then go back to where you were on the LS and then lean it 2 hours, try a few more pit stops and see if it improves. This will tell you which direction you need to start going on the LS to resolve the issue.

Default B6 Problem

Hi guys, I was experiencing some issues with my B6 and I was hoping to get your thoughts on it. To start off, i'll give some backround. My engine is roughly 1.5-2 gallons new. Im running 30% byrons fuel with a werks #5 plug and 7mm restrictor. I have the 2058 pipe combo as well. No fuel filters except the one in the tank and I have a loop in the fuel line. When I try tuning it, I can never seem to make it idle correctly. I set a .5mm gap with a drill bit and both needles flush when I began today. As I tuned, it seemed to make good power on high and low end with visible smoke. When returning to idle it would either be low and waver up and down a little(nothing dramatic) and would die after around 10 seconds. After experimenting with the low end, I could not resolve the issue and the idle would act the same and not idle consistently no matter what I would do. When pinching the fuel line, it would take the normal 3-4 seconds before it would die. Is pinching the line a method you guys would suggest for the low end? The high speed was adjusted for rpm and power on full throttle as on full throttle the engine is operating only on the high speed needle, correct? However I did spot some bubbles in the fuel line just before the carburetor. I have a new tank that I checked for leaks underwater and brand new fuel line. I also have the werks light clutch with aluminum shoes. Ever since i got the engine its been giving me problems with the idle. If you guys could give your thoughts I'd appreciate it very much. Thanks

Try a shorter fuel line. Also, sometimes the weather, as you know I'm sure, will make the tune finicky. A p4 plug might help to.

I ran with and without the loop in the line and same results. I had issues with it dying after pitstops similar to the situation below aswell. Weather was fine 80* and sunny. No real abnormal humidity or anything to that nature. Will see if I can try the p4 plug. Thanks though.
Any more thoughts anyone?

i found my idle gap to be a tad smaller then 5mm standard and in turn would lean my lsn a hair and my engines always came right to idle... also a p3 plug may be a better choice over a p4 if it is already having idle issues....

Default Looking for more run time on a tank

Hello all i am looking for any help. I have the B6 pro and B6 both with a 7mm restricter and running the 2058 pipe. When I have engine tuned for race day it seems all I can get is 7 min on tank.
Anyone using the 6.5 restricter? What kind of power and run time are you getting?

A 6.5 restrictor or orange Mizer (same air volume) and EB power plate is how I run mine. I get quite a few minutes more than you

Figure it out what the EB Power plate is. Does it really do everything it says?

I'm not discouraging you from buying a power plate, but IMO, something else is going on. I sometimes run my buggy on a large parking lot. I'll set the HSN to almost flush and I'm wot 80% of the time, at least. Having said that, I can get 7+ minutes runtime. On a track, race tuned, 9+ minutes all day long, usually 10+. 7mm restricter. Make sure your clutch, drive train, etc... is all in good working order.
