Unhappy Twin Velineon setup help

Hey guys, ive installed 2 traxxas velineon esc's and velineon motors in my Villain EX boat. I can not get these esc's to sync to each other.. I am running 2 2s batteries and a spektrum radio/receiver. trying to program the esc's- I get the esc's to blink red (full throttle) once then blink red two times (full Reverse) then the lights go off, i have held the reverse on the radio for almost 5 minutes waiting for it to turn green with no prevail. what is happening here?? what am i doing wrong? Ive tried to program them individually as well as both at the same time with the same results.

first make sure your throttle trim is centered and endpoints are at 100%. if your radio has the option for 70/30 or 50/50 throttle, use 50/50.

my radio is an older DX3.0 and all of those have been checked. I dont think it has a 50,50 option..

Using the velenion system in the villain boat is a bad idea i think. It's just too much power. That hull was never designed to take that kind of stress and speed.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but it sounds like you're holding reverse after the two red flashes waiting for it to turn green?? After its flashes twice aren't you supposed to leave the transmitter in neutral and wait for the green light to flash, that's how my old velineon worked.
