We see this all the time with batteries where C rates have become useless as they are all achieved differently if even tested. I believe nitro engines have the same issues where certain companies claim higher torque and RPM than others and in fact their motors aren't as powerful on the track.

Our goal is to supply a high quality motor at an affordable price. I can't guarantee that our motors will be faster than others but they should be similar.
You guys are exactly what this hobby needed. I've never bought SMC product but when it gets a little closer to indoor season, I'll be buying shorty packs, a saddle pack, and at least one motor from you. Great job on the sensor wire location! I've always wondered why they don't make the sensor wires with a 90* bend and something other than the wires to pull them out with. Don't need to with yours.

Hideeho
Do these motors have temp sensors integrated on the sensor board like tekin gen2, viper or lrp? Just wondering because this will be a great benefit it you run tekin rsg2 & a great hinderance if you run a sp reventon.

Great job SMC, will be picking up a 7.5 to go along with my 6.5.
Like the sensor port orientation and solder posts.
For $60, I can temp the old fashioned way.

I don't think they will be in by that date. Still trying to get a ship date from the factory. Seems like they are very busy at this time of the year.

I hope to get them soon as I will start racing again and would like to run my own motor.

It will take awhile as we want to make sure it's as good as possible. We will release a spec 17.5 first for clubs and organizations who are tired of the motor of the month and all the different rotor and stator options. Stock should be simple in my opinion but lately it has become more complicated than mod.

I can't wait for the new smc 17.5. I'm over the top happy with your batteries Danny & I know your motors will rock the house! I also really appreciate how you market your product, allowing people that might not have $90+ to spend on a motor or battery. "If you build it, they will come!" Thanks Danny!

Any chance for fixed timing on the 17.5 spec?

The spec 17.5 will have adjustable timing as if we have it fixed some guys will open them up and try and advance the timing we have seen this in the past at some races where guys were slotting the ring inside to give more timing. It's best to allow timing so everyone can put what they need.

It will be cutting it close but I think I will have them for the race in Ottawa. Typical Chinese way of business where they give you a date and they can't respect it. Makes me look bad but after 14 years of dealing in China I'm getting use to it.
