Default Tires....

Anyone running anything different than X-patterns for asphalt?

Any other good tire choices out there?

Hey Jay, Steve here. A number of our USGT racers are using VTA front tires and wheels all around and say they work as well as anything else. Rich has them on the wall for sale. I'm using the X pattern belted with 3mm offset front wheels and 6mm offset rear. I skate a bit but it's better than it was with the unbelted tires.

Speaking of belted X Patterns, I have a set of four with two race days on them (asphalt) if anyone is interested. Mounted on 3mm offset wheels. PM me or check the classifieds if you're interested. I'd been hording them in preparation for a statewide series, but just sold my USGT last week.

Thanks for the info Steve I'll keep that in mind for sure.

I'm planning on running offset wheels with a 200mm body.

Sadly, no. But I like it!

(Actually, the rules "discourage" the use of IMSA GTP style bodies, without actually banning them.)

Yeah the IMSA bodies are not really what the class is. GTR stuff like the Mercedes magical Joie Chitwood LeMans back flip machine, or the Porsche GT1 are ok. It just does not need to become a Can AM wedge body class.

How about the Pagani Zonda? It looks about as close to a GTP as you can get without actually being one. I run this:
