In the same post you manage to say that the features are pointless when using a high end radio and that they are necessary in the same time . I have a high end radio and RX8 features are just a plus, but I would miss them with an other ESC.

Just because it's never mentioned, I'll put an unconventional one up:

Kontronik Jive (LV80, HV60, or HV80)
Mostly a 3D helicopter ESC, but with a car mode

Sensorless only (but brings the best out of sensorless motors)
2s-6s (12s for HV models but hey... 6s will do)
60 to 80 continuous amps
6V-5A super reliable BEC
No reverse
Built like a tank
Weird rectangular shape
Pricey
Outstanding service (24m warranty)

Out of TONS of escs I've tried my favorites I keep coming back to for their price, durability and tuning are the SP Silver Arrow V2 and the HW 150amp sensored blue Xerun escs. These never thermal, they put out gobs of power and have been SUPER reliable. Hopefully now that I said that none of them take a dump on me lol.

+1. The Silver Arrow is now my ESC of choice. My oldest one has out lasted any other model I have tried.

+2

Been quite happy with the ones I have used. They are big though and I wish they would have configured the wires to be plug and play like the receiver wire, and / or, have it come out of the top of the case instead of the side. that would give it more effective room as I had to trim my motor guard on my EB48 to get it to fit properly.

Other than that though, its been one heck of an esc.

Which, makes me wonder whatever happened to SP's Cirtix R8?

funny thing is in the manual, there is mention of an even more robust version that I think was going to be made to handle 6S and even 1/5 usage in some form.

They also don't do 2S in SCT. That's the only reason I still run an RX8. In that application, the RX8 has lasted much longer.

I've always been a Novak fan and user since I started racing in the late 80's, but I'm really liking what I see with the Tekin RX8 Gen2, I think I'm gonna give that a try once my 8.2e FT is completely done. (that's if I can find one) I already have a brand new Tekin T8, 1900kv that I haven't used yet, so I look forward to giving Tekin a try. I've never ever used a Tekin in all the years I've been in RC, I figured it was time to try something new.

Yep, the Silver Arrow v3.0. Should be awesome and if I will be picking one up as soon as I can because it seems like it would be perfect if it just builds upon the v2.0

I have a 120a Hobbywing SCT and 2250kv motor I'm about to drop into my EB48. (God-willing UPS will deliver it tomorrow). I'll be sure to report back to this thread and give my .02 on it. So far I can say this with certainty:

Pros:

Sensored
Terrific Price
Tuning box was included in the combo
USB cable for updating tuning box firmware included
Smallish footprint

Cons:

Prewired motor with bullets
Prewired ESC

The rest is yet to be determined.
