This is an HPI Honda Civic Si Coupe body. Used masks created by Rock Star Paint to create the Labatt Blue logos. So, they are all paint. Faskolor Fasescent Blue. It's sitting on a nice handling TC5. Novak SS 21.5 with an Edge ESC. Not sure if the rear spoiler is legal 10mm. I'll have to check that.

Default Tamiya Audi R8 width

I was going to get a Tamiya Audi R8 body shell (#51471) but just seen the width is 185mm...?

There seems to be a few around on this thread. Is that width right. Anybody had any issues with it being too narrow. I want to put it on a T3 with 26mm foam tyres.

Thanks

I have one on my Tamiya 416 and have no issue with fit. Pictures are a few pages back of it.

EDIT: See post 768 for pics of mine.

I airbrushed one for a local guy a while back. No issues on width either that I'm aware of. I think he had it on a TC6. He put the rear wing and mirrors on himself. Its a really nice body. You could paint it all black or all white and it would be cool just like that!

Thanks, looks very nice.

The rear wing on it, is that a HPI wing, it does not look like the kit wing.

Yeah, that is the low downforce wing from the HPI set. I did end up putting the high downforce wing on it to settle the rear down, but I really think that was from a different issue. I plan to try the low wing again Saturday during or first test and tune on the outdoor track. The kit wing is just for looks and I doubt it provides any rear grip, but I have not tried it.

Protoform just released this AWESOME Camaro ZL1 body which they say in their description is aimed at USGT! Really cool and 190mm. I told my LHS to order one, pronto!

I just texted my shop owner to get one on order for me as well. It's a great looking car, I can't wait to get my hands on it and try it out.

Overall, I like it. I would've preferred some of the proportions kept true to the 1:1. The roof line looks lower/longer than it should, but unlike the HPI version this one is 190mm so I ordered one to see how i like it. Not sure it'll be enough to sway me from my beloved BMW, but maybe it'll change my mind when it arrives.

Crud. I just realized they say it'll fit 190mm bodies with the use of wide offset wheels. And the overall width is 205mm. Dangit, doesn't look like it'll fit a 190mm body so well afterall. Kinda wish I'd held off on ordering it now.

I didn't see that. Where did you see it at?

Looks good! I'd consider one if I ran wider offset wheels.

Hey Guys,

Body specs on the site have been fixed. It's 197mm wide, to fit 190mm touring cars. (No offset wheels needed)

Awesome! Are there other USGT or VTA bodies to be released by PF anytime soon?

Thank you for the clarification, Eric! Now I'm back to being stoked about getting this body!
