21-22/83-81 would be reasonable assuming moderate timing.

Hey guys, so i recently started racing again, I have a factory team sc10 2wd with a novak motor. Heres my problem, When im racing my sc10 i get a clicking noise when it starts to accelerate. It will not reach its full speed and will stay at a very slow speed. I have to slowly give it some power so that it does not make a fast clicking noise and i can actually get somewhere with it. It gets very annoying because i don't have that short boost of power when I need it most. Thanks for any feed back as it is much appreciated.

Novak.. *sigh*. Similar issues are not alien to me. Do yourself a favour and UPGRADE to a Hobbyking X-Car 120a esc and a Turnigy trackstar (silver can) motor. It'll only cost you $70~ too.

Sensor board in the motor could be dirty or bad, recently had a similar issue,it was like i was on the rev limiter.
Clean the sensor board and see if it helps.

I had the same noise last week, had car apart to replace diff, after I put it back together did not set spur/pinion lash tight enough... but the harder I accelerated the worse it got.... was late im blind... tightened it up a little clicking went away... funny thing was saw no signs on spur gear of wear....

Is it a ball or gear diff? You were already told to check out the motor. So, I wont go over that again, just clean it and blow the slator out. I was racing last saturday at CV and i will be again next week if you need a hand.

Let me confirm:
1) if you get on it hard, it never goes full speed and makes a clicking sound.
2) if you roll the throttle less aggressively no click and you can hit full speed?

I would check the slipper and diff. The slipper would not click but squeel, so that's probably not it. A ball diff would "bark", not really a clicking sound. A rock in the spur or out-drives could also make a clicking sound, but that would not be better if you accelerated slower. Again, I can take a look on Saturday if your coming out again.

Yes, what you confirmed is true, it will just stay at a very slow speed clicking. I have messed with the slipper clutch for a while but I still can't fix the problem. I would greatly appreciate if you could help me out and I will definelty try to make it this Saturday. It is a ball diff... Also I don't think it could be the motor because this only happens when it's on the ground. If I hold it in the air, no problem. Thanks for the feedback! : )

If you are sure its a ball diff, then my bet is on a shredded idler gear inside the transmission.

if you dont have it fixed by the weekend, I will be at the track by 5pm. Just hit me up. I have a spare tranny and ball diff we can try to eliminate causes also.

Ive been working on trying to get to the transmission to rebuild it and check out whats going on inside but little things keep coming up like stripped screws. I dont think i will be able to finish it today, maybe tommorow. Ill let you guys know as soon as I have completed it and if thats fixed the problem.

Yeah the arms and tower thing are starting to piss me off. I have an SC10 B with a broken front arm that I can't run unless I want to spend crazy cash for the part!
