Default Question about esc and amps

Had a Tekin Rs for my drift car before and loved it. Considering picking up a Hobbywing setup thats 60 amps. Will this be sufficient for drifting? Don't really know how many amps the Tekin was.

I'd drop the gearing to around 7-8 FDR and make sure the belts aren't over tight but besides that should be fine.

So is dropping the fdr necessary to run a 60 amp esc? Cuz i like it at 6.5

The higher the FDR the higher the amp load. If you have a Watt Meter or an Eagletree you can measure amp draw and max amp spike during a run and gear accordingly (which is what I usually do) but if not, it's best to drop the FDR at first.
