HELP!! HELP!! HELP!!
Hello All,
I just built a DEX410V3 and wanted to start racing in the stock class
(newbie). But when I went in to practice, I couldn't clear the small double
.Here’s what I got:
DEX410V3
Orion R10 Pro
Orion VST Pro 17.5T Stock
87t Spur
21t pinion
Any ideas would be a great help.
Thanks

17.5 in a 4wd buggy is under-powered i think but if you have a class go for it. also check with other drivers in the class because they will know best.

what kind of track has this class? 17.5t (assuming blinky) seems really under powered for 4wd buggy. and dex410 is one of the heavy one in the class (not helping).
perhaps the track is very small and tight? or I'm sensing this class going to be a motor burning expert class.
oh, for gearing, best idea is to go to the track and see what others use. and calculate yours.

For 2wd stock I run 69/33 or 69/34 just depending on the track, but I know with that said its 2wd, but your still using a stock motor. So turn the timing on the motor all the way up or atleast as high as you can before it starts getting to hot, then try a gearing similar or like many other guys have said just ask what other people are running so you will have a good idea of what to run.

id say at least put a 13.5 in your car, you wont be going crazy fast with it but it will help a little more with getting over those jumps. or you could just add some boost via the esc and not worry about buying another motor, but be careful because with boost comes more heat.

I would say a 17.5 motor because you can get faster and control it easier. If you drop a crazy fast motor in the car then it's gonna be hard to learn how to drive it. Remember even though 17.5 is slow you can always turn it up with boost and timing or once you get used to it upgrade or change to a faster motor. A lot of people make the mistake and say they want to go fast but when they go to race they have to race a class they don't have a chance at winning and they can't control the car. Slower is faster most of the time anyways.
