RC10B4.1 FT/WC
I'm running that same weight with a 5000MAH wolfpack with 2 weights, and ballast!
They became available before the wolfpack did. When they came out they were a quick way to shed roughly 100g off the car. The wolfpack allows those that run mod (predominately) to still use a full pack and enjoy some weight savings. The shorty packs really excel in the stock classes where the wolfpack excels in the mod classes.

No, more for the lower moment of inertia. Think of it like this. Imagine you have a full length 2x4 (8ft long in case you didn't know). Grab it in the center with both hands about a foot apart. Now keeping it level with the ground push out with one hand while pulling in with the other. Basically making one end of the board go away from you while the other end of the board comes toward you. Think how difficult it would be to start the board moving, and stop the board once it is moving. It is because the weight is spread out. Now cut 3 feet off of the 2x4 and do the same thing. Imagine how much easier it would be to do the same thing. This is why a shorty pack changes the handling of the car. Now you can also think what would happen if you start holding your hands closer to one end of the board. This is like moving the pack front to back in the car. This is why it is/was important to pay attention in physics class. It really is not that hard to understand why things act the way they do.
I do run protek shorties tho
The thing that sucks is Protek just changed them just within the past couple of months, cause I was looking for more. They use to be 70c. They did away with that, now they are 100c. I haven't tried one of those. That seems like it's more for road/pan cars like the description says. 100c may be to punchy for offroad. I've never personally tried a battery over 70c on anything, so I don't know.

However, I must point out that not everyone took a 300 level physics class is college.
