HPI Sprint 2 slipper clutch conversion
#1
I would like to put a slipper clutch or slipper spur gear on my direct drive Sprint 2. When a pebble gets stuck in the transmission, I don't want it to harm the motor. Can anyone help me convert my sprint 2 from direct drive to slipper clutch or slipper spur gear?

A direct drive would be something along the lines of what the Bolink Legends and the RJ Speed Legends use =

Not sure, but I think it's called a ball diff...

Easiest way to keep pebbles out is:
A) Only drive on indoor tracks
B) Use a leaf blower & clear the area where you are going to play
C) Use a school tennis court that's been recently resurfaced but use the leaf blower also...
Out by where I live the shit heads tagged one HS tennis court so all in the area are now under lock & key so no one can use them...
OR you can...

I happened to be thinking of this earlier today and came up with a half theory as long as you are about modding parts to work...
This is the composition of a slipper clutch:

This is the slipper clutch assembly for the Traxxas Grave Digger:

Here is a different one in a nitro truck:

In theory all you need is the appropriate gearing and mod a shaft to work with the mid shaft of the sprint 2 yet hold the slipper clutch assembly together while spacing the motor slightly deeper in the mount(would probably need cut and an adapter plate made). Or mate the slipper clutch to a modded pinion with an e-clip like in the installed pic.
