New LRP Flow Esc
#256
1. Smoother Throttle profiles, can adjust throttle profile while in blinky
2. More boost adjustability, mod & stock boost profiles on one ESC
3. Aluminum case
4. "U" solder tabs
5. Improved BEC reliability
I also saw a small drop in motor temps in 17.5 blinky TC, 5-10*F.
LRP have also released new firmware that more specializes the profiles, 1 for offroad (mod), 1 for onroad(mod), and one for stock racing.

I received my Flow the other day and installed it last night. It's all setup with settings and gearing which I believe will work but I wanted to get a second opinion. Here's what I got: Flow w/Ballistic 7.5 @40 deg endbell timing
112/29=7.72 ratio
settings=5,3,1,6,3,0,3
track is 100x48 carpet/technical w/sweeper
112/29=7.72 ratio
settings=5,3,1,6,3,0,3
track is 100x48 carpet/technical w/sweeper

Yes, you will need the Spec 2 updater. However I do not expect there to be any firmware updates. That board was only intended to be a bridge from the SXX to the Flow. All future development will most likely be only on the Flow. This is just my opinion not official from LRP

Sean,
If you have any influence with LRP, ask them to offer an "Oval" firmware for the Flow. Starting at 5100 RPM is too late for most oval classes. And the ramping isn't fast enough. Even in 10.5, with the timing maxed in the D3.5 motor and in the Flow, it doesn't pull hard enough. It pulls too late down the straight and the motor comes off too cold. With the current firmware, I'd say it's only good for Open Mod. I am going to run it in Open Mod at the Birds, but I'd like to have the option for other classes.

I think a firmware with lower start rpms would be good for the 1s classes and especially the 13.5 and higher winds.
However using about 10 degrees more static and less dynamic timing creates a similar feel to the escs with lower start rpm.
For example i ran 2k start 12k end rpm with 45 degrees of oost on my tekin. Thattranslates in a 4,5 ramp angle in the flow. However at 5k rpm on my tekin i'd already have 15 degrees of timing.
So that is why with the flow i've increased the static by 10 (need to test 15) and reduced the dynamic boost by the same amount. Track performance is close to what i had with the tekin but with much better feel (as far as that is important. In 1s 13,5......)

Is there a way to determine which version usb bridge i have? I have used it with my SXX stuff with no problems but dont want to risk it with my flow. Will it just not work if it's the old one or will it jack something else up?

The stock specific sw only goes to 3,5 deg/ krpm
The std 1.4 sw has a 4,5 deg/krpm max angle!
