I saw this posted on the Island Raceway thread so I figured I'd drag it over here and see what people think.

Also look it up on face book!
this is another great article by matt and i think its a great idea. i am all for a little change and some more racing. i have spent countless days racing qualifying trying to get that clean 6 minute run just to have a lapper destroy my perfect 5minutes and 30 seconds. either way there will be times that someone can ruin someones race but that is racing. i just think the announcer needs to take a little more time telling traffic when they are being passed to be curtious. there has been a serious drop in racer etiquette over the past year and the guilty parties need to be taught etiquette and there needs to be some sort of penalty for bad driving
Of course there are times I get in the way or bump people and normally I’m quick to apologize and while an apology doesn’t get the other person their position back or the 2 seconds off their lap time I think at least acknowledging that I bumped them means at least something. It’s just very frustrating that a good portion of people seem to think that driving through someone, or over someone or cutting the track to avoid a pile up is the standard way to race. I know, I know, but Eric you race short course, it’s to be expected. Yeah well maybe some rubbing is to be expected but when you beat someone to the corner and they proceed to dive in to the corner and hammer you that’s not racing, that’s poor driving. And how about this, when you do hack someone how about you wait or give them their position back. If you’re good enough to catch someone you should be good enough to pass them cleanly.
I don’t know, perhaps penalizing someone a lap for poor driving or cutting the track might make a difference? It’s a fine line and I don’t think anyone wants to run anyone off the track with penalties or black flags but where does it stop?
➕1 well said. The info really should be posted. Well see everyone sat, and licata come out and enjoy racing, and like Tom said try to over look the point everyone is in the dark about the info. See ya there. And also licata, do you know irh's next trophy race? I haven't been down there in a while.
As I quote another... If you have nothing nice to say "keep it to yourself"!
I'm tired of the online bashing and apparent lack of respect, especially those wiser and further along in years.
-1 NOT WELL SAID... There is a reason the shop hasn't been open over the holidays and if I'm not mistaken it is so the guys / gals can take a well deserved break and enjoy a vacation. To be on the website site every time someone has a question and needs an answer instantly is not their job. You must have some patience and be happy when the info is released.
