I have a gear diff that I took from my kids sc10 and replaced with a ball diff. I was thinking about putting it back in, but wanted to see what effects you guys where seeing. I want to make here truck a little more planted in the rear. I was thinking the gear diff with 3k might do it. thoughts? I could also tighten her ball diff as well. the thing is here straight line acceleration and tracking is fine, I mainly want to plant it more in the corners. I ran her truck last weekend and meh, the rear is a little loose entering the turn.

Also, she is running rpm bumper in the front. Has anyone added it and noticed and increase in steering? I assume because it is heavier. my sc10 has the same setup as my kids, but mine pushes and hers swings in the corners more. I run the stock bumper. Only thing i can think of.

If you want to plant the rear using a gear diff, start with 7k oil or higher. 3k is still pretty light. I had my little girls at 15k until she learned to dive better and backed it down eventually to seven when she got the hang of it. If you go thick it will have a on power push as the rear locks down coming out of the corners.
Also, remove the washers on the rear ball studs and possibly move the link on the rear hubs in. It will help.

For the push, Is everything the same? Shocks, tires, settings. Are you both running the same speed around the track? There could be some small variables that will make yours push and hers handle. I dont think the bumpers would have that much effect but yes, the RPM's are a touch heavier. Throw a chunk of weight on the front of yours and see if it works for you.

HELP!! RPM QUESTION FOR SC10.
I have the RPM front a-arms for the SC10. I realize I must cut down on the size of the hinge pin, but what size screw will I need? I don't have the one that came with the set.. If they did come with the set?
Thanks.

RPM front arms requires RC10gt hinge pin. I don't remember the part number, but it stated on RPM's website... I just RPMed out my truck so I had to do the same... Also with RPM's front arms, you have to use their bulkhead, which are included...

My experience with setups are, you should setup your cars for sections that you have most trouble with, the rest of the track can be compensated with driving... For instance, I tend to always get caught up from doubles and triples if my car has too much nose dive, so I tend to setup my car for jumps on suspension, next, my car has too much or too little steering, so I would adjust for that next. The rythm sections causes me grief, but since it's less than 10% of the track, I just slow it down enough to not get snagged on it... My $0.02

In my opinion i would say neither one of them are any good, integy stuff is known for not being very strong and/or not fitting correctly. The strc stuff is better but im not a fan of adding aluminum to cars, your just going to break the next plastic piece in line and it adds weight to the truck.

You can find Maifield's setup sheets online of course. In the video below you can get a quick look at his truck in the beginning. I thought the body venting was interesting.

Has anyone used and have much feedback on the new Hex Jconcepts axles? Looking at putting together a hex conversion for a sc10 and then read about the breakage that some had. Saw the new JConcepts axle was out and wondered if anyone has ran them and thoughts? Are the Jconcepts and Avid hexes the same in terms of dimensions/fit/ect?

Thanks

Yes, the JC axles are going to be better than the stock hex axles. As far as hexes go i would recommend the AVID hexes, they are the best quality out there.

Default Rear camber links....

What is the best position for the rear camber links in general?? Which rear hubs and how many washers in the inner? Do you want the inner lower or higher than the outside ???
