Default LiFe Battery as Super Cap

I am running a touring car with a Novak Edge ESC with a tiny 2 amp BEC, to make things worse I am running a voltage sensitive Spektrum radio and a power-hungry Savox servo, this combination gives me unbelievable radio brown out even with a Novak Super Cap, so I abandoned it and am running a receiver pack without issues. Recharging the receiver pack is a pain, and I was wondering if it was advisable for me to discharge the pack to 6v, and run the pack plugged into the power port with the ESC BEC operation ON. With the BEC supplying the 6.1 or so volts of power, to the radio and LiFe pack, the charge voltage of the pack vs the BEC output volts would quickly come to voltage equilibrium and run normally under low load. However, when a big spike of draw is put on the BEC by that Savox servo, the LiFe pack would discharge enough to keep the lights on and running, to be recharged by the BEC after the next corner.

Has anybody tried this? I ran two super caps and still browed out, and I don't really want to buy a new servo/radio/ESC.

You DO NOT want to do that. Youd have no control over the voltage going into the life pack. Just run the rx pack as you have been.

You're LiFe pack would not actually charge back up. There is not enough time or charge current to keep the LiFe pack above the 6v threshold.

instead of running a receiver pack, why not put a seperate bec (like the one from castle creations). its lighter and smaller than a receiver pack and at 10 amps it should supply plenty of power.

Or take the simple route and get a better servo?

Sounds like you need to shop for a 5a to a 10a external BEC. If the glitch buster is not keeping your recievers voltage steady it is just a better solution than any external battery will ever be.

I run a separate 460mah receiver lipo and a HV servo. Works great. I can get 40min of run time from the battery and they only cost $3. So, I bought 4 of them and charge them all up before I go, then I'm set for the day.
