I have always wanted a rubber 1/12 scale class but looks like tamiya f103gt is the closest thing.

It is too bad they don't make them any more.

For those of you who knows tamiya well can I convert a f104 into gt?
From my time with Tamiya cars I know you can go from F103 to a GT. You have to get the adaptors for the rear for the Touring car rim and the front is a spindle change, hub and bearings to mount up to touring cars hexes. I would do some Ebay searches for the parts. I never had a F104 to know if these parts would work on a F104. I think the F104 is narrower than the F103.
I hope this will help you.
I am still kicking around the idea of a Touring car(17.5 or T/A) or a Mini again!

The new 104v2 looks to have the rear pod of the RM01 1/12th chassis.
The too bad they don't scale up the RM01 into the F104 size.
The hex's & front axels look close... what is the dia. of the rm01 & the rubber F1 tires?

Here are the non-race kits with ABS tub chassis & bushings.

Nissan

I think Lambert has the mounts & has put the Nissan body on his F103? chassis.

Exotek F1R and Exotek FGX Conversion are by far two of the best F1 chassis on the market. Look up UF1 and see what is going on nationally. The class is huge and picking up a lot of following.

The F104 V2 Pro version is pretty nice though.

The best is still the F103.

They are the same design, not sure about the part numbers, but thought I heard they are identical. Both are link instead of the old T-bar style.

I can confirm the are the identical rear pod and part number.

Building an F104v2 now. It seems pretty nice and great quality.

I think I got the bugs out of my f104 that was undriveable last weekend - a couple of minor build errors - Sounds like f1 could be a Sunday class soon!

I have used my 1/16th Slash for fun, way too fast even being geared down. It could corner with slower 17.5 TC... The heavy springs are a must & TC tires bolt right on.
