Questions?? Can I use one programming card for different ESCs ?

Can anyone please answer me this question for me?
Can I use the same ESC programming card for programming the ESCs of different makes?
Like using the same ESC-programming-card for Hobbywing, LRP, Speed passion etc. Or is that one has to buy the programming-card of that particular brand ?

Usually the answer is no you can't.

Now some ESCs with different names may or may not be made by the same manufacturere and may or may not be programmed the same. Try it and see if it works.

I know Castle makes their ESC available for other distributors/sellers and their card may work on all the others.

Hobbywing has several models that use different cards.

Thankyou AreCee for your reply.
I get that. So its not possible unless the manufacturer is the same and specified with what other ESC the programmer is compatible with. I saw a programmer advertisement that says what ESCs it is compatible.

Also a friend told me that if you have Speedpassion it works fine on Hobbywing.
Looks like there are people who use Speedpassion software on their Hobbywing ESC, think the same factory makes both.

Hobbywing makes speedpassion esc's. The hobbywing v2.1 is the same as the speedpassion v2.0 esc. Those are really the only brands that can share programmers and software.

As AreCee said, there is no harm in trying the programmer you have to see if it will work.

Hw programming devices can be used on hw, sp, bullistrom, bh, and I think there are a few more.

Our programmers will only work on ESCs that we manufacture...under the Castle name or one of the companies we manufacture ESCs for (Traxxas, HPI, etc.). You will find this is the case with all programmers. The software for each manufacturer is proprietary so the products will not communicate with one another.
