Something else that could be adding to the problem is something I run into with my Agama w/ 17mm shocks. As a run goes on the shocks heat up, especialy with a larger bore. The increase in bore we are seeing now will generate more heat than you are used to. With the agama when it is hot out side I will typically run 2.5w or 15-25cts heavier than I feel I need. By the end of the race it's back where it needs to be.

Extra fizzy too..... helps with the little whoops
Big bores are more sensitive to temperature changes. With a small bore you can build it in 85 degrees and it wont change too much when the temp drops down to 75ish. But a big bore will change ALOT.
Finally got to run my b4.1 with the AE big bores........ Buggy felt great, def. better then the V2 as most already know.... Was very smooth on jumps and landings and didn't bottom out once which was great considering my local track is setup motorcross style now with alot of jumps......... Even though I didn't shave the towers there was no rubbing or anything and the rear felt planted.......
