Default Odd Lipo behavior

I have two lipo packs that are doing something very odd. 2s venom 5000mah batteries will charge forever. The charger will never peak charging these packs. I have the safety cutoff at 120min and have timed out twice seeing if they will ever trip the charger.

They will charge to capacity but at 0.1a will continue to add capacity 1 mah at a time for.. well I let them go 4 hours and still kept going. They seem to discharge fine and charge I just have to manually stop the charge.

Here is a screen shot if 8 min of charge time bouncing from 0.0-0.1a and adding 1mah at a time. I didnt let it run for that long but its just an example it will do that all night..

One thing I did notice that if I switch from balance charge to just charge the batteries will trip the charger as full. I purchased a new balance block thinking that might be it even tho I have other batteries that change just fine.

Anyone have ideas on this?

I think I am going to storage charge them and try to get both the cells to balance at half charge. I suspect one cell is not coming up to full voltage and that why it is doing this. oddly when viewing the voltage in the charger (venom pro charger) one cell will be at 4.20 and the other will bounce continuously from 4.19-4.25 and back to 4.19 will never stay at 4.20

checking with a battery checker 8.4 c1 4.26 c2 4.13

Your charger is trying to get them to balance. This is what's taking so long. This is why I balance charge every time. There is less chance of them getting so far apart in voltage.

I suspect you are correct, I am storage charging them now to see if I can get them equaled out at half charge and them charge them up again (balance charge)

I bet storage charge will balance it out. Seems odd but either way I wouldn't worry too much as long as they seem to balance up good. Have you tried another charger to see how it acts?

If the weather holds out tomorrow I will be heading to the track. I will see if someone will try balancing one for me. I'm not a fan of this charger. Max 1.0a discharge takes forever. It's getting replaced this winter.

Just to update this, there is something up with my charger. I gave a battery to a guy at the track and I started charging one at the same time. Some time later he handed me my battery and said it was done and my was still clicking along at .1 never did shut off I had to do it manually.
