Ya'll do realize the fundamental flaw regarding the 17.5 class right?
No one will actually run a non-boosted 17.5.
There are also other facilities in CT that run both F1 and Tamiya Minis, but I fail to realize how anywhere in this state is too far to travel.

That and non-expensive is not exactly how I would characterize that series.
I'm offering 17.5 buggy class because A) it's a popular class at other popular tracks around the country and we want to be a popular well known track too, and B) Customers tell me all the time that they are intimated by the faster drivers, don't want to get in there way, or don't want to have to pull over all the time for faster drivers.
Addressing the concerns of some potential racers also happens to be a popular class in other areas of the country, that's all.

I remember when we tried to get the stock spec class going, the faster guys in the class were running full on blinky mode, what happened?? The faster guys were being almost as fast with a 17.5 as the mod motors, so some people decided that they were cheating and started to cheat by boosting.
I'm telling you, 17.5 in 2wd buggy is fun as beck, I'm surprised it hasn't taken off at RCHR as in other tracks...
Here's the real fundamental and disgusting truth, when racers THINK that someone else is cheating cause they're faster, the accusers become themselves the cheaters....

As for the blinky thing......straight up BS as well. Any noob with a soldering iron can hack a switch to make a diode blink. The precise reason why we run Mod 2wd SCT up in Winsted rather than ROAR Spec is that there will always be someone doing something shady. If we just run Mod, there is no tech and no worrying about everyone being on a level field.
I ain't gonna call out any names, but ya'll know who the usual suspects are/were that were clearing doubles and triples with a 17.5 that no one else could...........and it certainly wasn't tuning.
As for tracks in CT, I don't live in CT. I live in NY. R/C Madness would be a ~ 2-3hr drive for me, each way.
If you're actually hinting at the fact that I am a cheater......that's some straight up BS Fred, but you are entitled to your opinion.

I'm just basing my opinion on my own experience, I never knew about the whole blinky diode thing.
I ran my vintage rc10 in blinky mode at last year's JC race, and I was pretty competitive with it, even when there were faster cars there....
Who's bs? And why are you calling him or her?? Bob Saget???
