POSSIBLE FOR BROWN OUT WITH MMP WITH EXTERNAL BEC ?
#1
ive been chasing this problem for over a month now.
my electronics :
esc: mmp
castle external bec
spektrum 6030 servo
castle 1410 motor
spektrum DX3C
muchmore motor fan
amb transponder
spektrum sr300 receiver
the esc was new a moth ago. i went to a big race and experienced my truck shutting on and off.it would shut off for a couple of seconds and come back on. i thought 100% it was a brown out. so i installed a castle bec.
worked fine for a bit and started doing it all over again. bought another receiver. worked fine for a bit and started doing it again...
called castle and they replaced the esc.. i went to a big race this weekend with new esc w/bec installed. worked good till 4rth round and it shut off again. marshal took it off the track and by the time i got to it it was back on. (oh and the on/off switch has been removed before all this)
i checked all wiring, connection nothing would make the truck shut off by wiggling them. also this has happened with two different packs, both good packs.
talked to a guy at the shop and he said that even with the bec the spektrum receivers have a hard time flowing the power. he said mine could be intermittent like it is because i have the BEC and it helps but doesnt cure the problem. he told me to i should still run a glitch buster.
has anyone still had a brown out problem like this ? im running out of patients . also running out of areas to put all this extra crap in my truck. all the ports in my esc are taken up and iam running a "Y" harness already.
any ideas and or tricks ?
thanks.

Are the DSM2 receivers much better than the DSM receivers? I have a DX2S and the SR3300T rx that came with it is having issues after only a couple of months. I put in a new SR300 and it is fine now but for how long? I'm not having brown outs, my issue is that the steering servo is VERY slow to return to center. And while it starts very fast to the end points it then slows way down before it gets there and struggles to finish the move. I thought it was binding in my steering mechanism at first but after a complete front end rebuild it is silky smooth so I tested just the servo and it was making the same motions with just the horn installed. Like I said swap in the new RX and everything is perfect.

yes, i've been digging around about the SR300, and I did get a little worried seeing as I have one. But after consulting the manual of the SR300, I see that it warns against using power hungry servos due to a predicted voltage drop.
but seeing as my airtronics 94157 servo doesn't draw a huge amount of power, I'm okay.
