Whenever I run aluminum, such as the U-brace and my STRC knuckles, I use a ball stud that threads all the way out the other side just far enough to grab it with needle nose pliers if the stud ever breaks off flush.

Any of you guys using DE racing rear wheels? I have a bunch left over from my 22,the package says 22/B4.1 with hex. However the hole seams small around the wheel nut. I actully don't have a wrench that fits in there for the AE wheel nut.

Yes, I use them. The hole is even smaller on the front wheels. I had to buy the green Asscoiated nut driver as this was the only one the I found to fit

+1 for grub screw. My drilling abilities need work, but I put 2 in each hub. About 60% of the slop went away. I suggest a fine tipped punch to indent for drilling or it wonders. You might have to drill a little into the far side of the pin hole for the tap to be able to go far enough in to thread all the way. A dab of blue locktite on the set screws and dont. I did go buy a drill press vice for $16 do hold the hubs still though. Al said about $30 in parts to fix my $30 hubs, lol

What you can do is drill all your holes and tap them as deep as you can with the tap. Then take a grinder and grind the end of the tap down a little. So there is just a little bit of taper left. Then finish tapping them.

I know you are already done with yours. But for anyone else that needs to do it.

I have the same problem with the DE wheels for my T4.1. The only wrench I have that fits is the plastic AE one that comes with the kit. Pretty disappointing.

Dynamite wrenches fit the DE wheels.

I just used a steel 4-40 screw with a 3/32 head and some bushing oil to get the hole threaded further. My old bolink tap was not cutting far enough for my liking due to the taper. I did one screw in the center and it cut the slop in half. For the sloppy bearing holes I use blue painters tape. I think the car works way better and runs quiter with these mods. Oh yea....No more toe out on the rear lol.
