The way I remember it, somebody (seeing a child running down the middle of the track) yelled "Send it", you accelerated, she screamed, waved her arms, and tried to run away, but you tracked her down.

...yeah, it was an accident... but why did you have to stop and back over her when she was lying on her face?

p.s. I'm running cold-rolled steel arms now. Hide your daughters.

Since both of mine race too, be careful, they'll retaliate. Brynn's a demon behind the wheel.

lol, I never even hit the brakes. she was turn marshaling practice and went to come over someone car and I ran her little butt over. lol. So Mod Nats is this weekend? Where is it being held at? Also, which avid bearing do you use? I was thinking metal shields on the non exposed diff bearings, The teflon one side and metal inside for the outdrives. And for the wheels? rubber outside and metal inside? I am looking to order some avid bearings and was looking for input.

Nats is being held at West Coast RC Raceway in La Mirada, CA. It's an awesome indoor facility about 10-15 mins from Disneyland. As far as the avid bearings, I get the revolutions for everything, never had an issue with anything they sell. Great stuff at great prices.

Seeing that nobody has tested it yet (other than a select few) and the fact that it doesn't come out for a couple weeks....can't really tell you. If its anything like their other products it will be great.

I agree with the above statement. Everything that I've bought from Avid has def. been worth the money and if I didn't already have the VTS slipper installed I'd buy the avid slipper setup when it came out....

I just adjust the camber by eye and roll with it...butting up a gauge to it is a joke.
Must not of installed grub screws on the hub yet ?

get it done and you won't have all that slop ....

Nope, not yet. I was waiting on reply form AE customer service hoping for a replacement, but I guess the guy there is not willing to respond to my email. The slop in bearing is bad enough that bearings moved around and failed.

I've done this mod before to hold the hub pins in, but it seems ridiculous to have to modify a $30 set of aluminum hubs, especially ones that don't hold the bearing correctly. It's not like plastics w/ molding variances, this is a machined part, so having tolerances that are this bad is just garbage and unacceptable. This is a easy fix for AE, so I'm not getting why it has not been addressed.

Sometimes picking up the phone and giving them a call is the best option.

O waaa , just do it & get it done ...
Takes about 10 min to do .

Believe when Ae makes a fresh production run on the rear hubs they will then include the grub screws ....

I have not seen a hub with really bad bearing play , not yet anyway .
My hubs are from the first production run , and still perform great .

You run your Aluminum a arms since they are stiffer. Good luck with that! And yes, this mere mortal does notice a difference. I will try things just to see the differences on how it drives. So I get actual experience instead of what I read.
Excuse me but when or how did I even call you names???

You quoted me, and asked questions and I thought I answered them?

I'm not sure how I said anything to offend you?

There is your original quote.

With my hubs. The right inside bearing falls out. On the left inside it snaps in and stays. Both outside bearing move freely up and own and in and out. I tried to reduce the in and out with shims, but I think the crush tube is preventing me from getting it all out. I am trying to use locktite to reduce the up and down. In any case, it is pretty horrible slop. I am still trying to fine someone with a drill press locally to try and drill and tap the hubs for the slop on the pin. But in no case is this fit very good. These hubs a poor quality. WC if your defense of the AE product is glue, drills and reworking of the hubs, then you sir are misguided. lol. Those hubs might be the worst thing AE ever made. I cant really think of anything worse. If someone like avid made replacement hubs that had better fit and grub screws they would sell a lot of them, lol.
