And people frowned upon my suggestion of shimming the car to remove slop...

It's analogous to having a wet noodle of a chassis.

So plastic arms are not good? Compliance suspension components? What is that?
Ive grown up in Motor sports and one thing I do know, the weights and measurements of a 1:1 truck does not work in the 1:10 scale. Were not jumping our 1:1 trucks 500ft.

Default hey!!

OptimumRC= JA? ......

Why do manufactures(AE) use standard drill sizes to valve pistons, metric opens up more valving options?

Honest , I rebuild about every 2 1/2 months .
Do 3 club races a week & practice almost every day .....

Most don't run that much in a whole year .....

Did you hear if you clean
the pins & ball cups , fresh oil & seals after every race ?

You go faster & car stays tight .....

Use the graphite parts !!!!

Wear & tear is above average compared to the softer plastic ...

That's no B.S. either....

Hmm, I always thought the car should land jumps like a wet rag. But this wet noodle idea.. now that's something. Are we talking al dente here? Because it seems like that would be too bouncy...

Beware the ever-present desire to apply full-scale physics to smaller, lighter objects. As size decreases, human intuition and logic seem to do the same.

The mighty ant and flea would like to have a few words....

Wow...are you guys all engineers or something?

I run carbon front arms and front towers on my Worlds buggy and I gotta tell y'all...the performance difference seems to be small.

WildCherry does what we should all be doing...practice and race alot!

A ton of upgrade parts still isn't going to help you win races!

i clean a lot but I don't clean pins after every race, more like once a month

I usually race once or twice a week, practice a few times, neighbor has a sweet backyard track I now practice on, blue grooved a bit..=]

I'm not saying plastic arms are "no good", heck for the average mortal, you probably won't even see a difference. However, the point is that compliance takes away precision out of the car (it's the opposite of stiffness). Essentially, by softening the arms your are softening your suspension, but this only applies to fast or high impact conditions since the arms are orders of magnitude stiffer than your shocks.

In real motorsports it would be equivalent to running standard rubber suspension bushing instead of stiffer polyurethane bushings. It takes away feel and reduces response.
