Well, The SC8.2 shocks and springs are the same as the original because they use the RTR towers.....the RC8.2 shock shafts are 2mm shorter as well as the springs for the FT towers, but the RTR towers have the same old shocks like the SC8.2 has.

I didn't put the Shaft and Spring numbers in for the RC8.2 upgrades....I'll add them a little later.....

IMVHO it's probably a legitimate question to ask - what benefits are you going to get from converting all that stuff to RC8.2 "specs"? Take a look at the RC8.2 thread - all anybody talks about is changing the RC8.2 into something else.. Lots of people talk about lack of traction out of the box, and all in all it seems that for many people the 8.2 takes some modding to get it where people like it..

The SC8, with that big heavy cage and enormous body, is never going to be as nimble and quick as any buggy. IMO the SC8 can be enhanced just like you would have modded an old RC8 or RC8B. Big-bore shocks, and maybe some other tweaks, like alu caster blocks or whatever.. But really, I kind of doubt the wisdom of going all out and modding to 8.2 specs.. If anything just wait til the 8.2 SC8 version comes out and buy one.. All those parts would add up I would think.., and you'd be much better off investing in engine, pipe, clutch, tires, a second engine, whatever... For racing, knowing basic setup (something I don't know..) is far more important than having the newest stuff(that I do know..) But hey, if you're dying for a project, go for it..

Stock sc8 has has no shock adjustments so u need big bores and aftermarket towers to perform better

I'm just wanting to upgrade the suspension parts only, the other stuff won't benefit the SC8 anyway.....Right now it has the geometry of the RC8B which is better for more tight tracks and concentrating on side to side roll center action.....the RC8.2 geometry is more of a jumping, BMX style track setup, like the tracks they've been racing the last couple years....it's more like the original RC8 geometry except more updated and slightly Lower COG....

I think the newer .2 jumping setup could benefit the SC8, but the lower COG would make no difference at all....So I'll use the RTR towers with the older BB Shocks

The parts add up to no more than $150 from what I can see.....so it's not a bad route.....but if you don't have an SC8 yet, just go for the SC8.2.....

If you want low end, go with a lower CB - 17 or even 16 if you really want to drift.. I have an 18T CB, but with an LRP ZR.30, and it has good bottom.. Depends how much bottom you want.. I say start with 17..

I'm 45 oil all around, bronze up front and silver in the rear. I'm also running the heavier t-bone front bumper too.

Most likely going to go down to 40 in the rear.

That's probably true but you can also compensate for it, as I have.

No need for 60 at all.. Try 40/40 - with stock springs.. Brown are really hard I think..

Really hard shocks only makes sense if it's for like onroad, and it's massively hot outside..

Also, it really depends what you want to do.. For the street, maybe 45 even.. Jumping.. - a bit less.. A track, less again.. "Bottoming out" on the street might mean it would soak up bumps on a track better.. All about what you want to do with it.. 35 or 40 IMO are generally good all-round weights..

Try 40 all around, with 1-2cm preload on the springs, with silver springs or whatever the original ones are..
