Default help please

ok i have a txt-1 with two titan 550 motors and a traxxas evx speed controler and running two duratrax shark 1500 batterys mounted in stock battery tray heres the problem was running the truck for like the second time and heard a loud pop from the truck so i took the body off and saw that part of the plastic that covers the body was missing thats what made the pop noise anyone else have this also the batterys where very hot could touch them but where very hot any one know why it did this

hi asgorath. can you pls. explain further "i took the body off and saw that part of the plastic that covers the body was missing thats what made the pop noise" i was a little bit lost. is it the body post parts? wherein you clip the body unto the txt? in any case. i rolled over my previous txt a lot of times, but never did i experience a popping/snapping part.

i also did the evx/titan combo on my txt before. and my set-up was stock gearing, 2-3000nimh and the unit is with stock bushings. though, the batteries are really warm to the touch, but never TOO hot. i have my motors clipped with heat sinks as well. try checking the mesh on your gearing. it might be a little too tight.

opps sorry ment peice of plastic on battery cam off like i can see the cells inside

sorry
if i may help here...i think its the gearing problem. wrong ratio. final gear ratio too low. causing heat buildup & stress to the batt. or maybe short circuit. need picture here.
