Hello,

I have the same power plant setup in my sons RC8.2 and really like the combo. It is very smooth but great usable power at all times. I would start your gearing with a 18 or 19 tooth and keep track of temps. We run on a medium size outdoor track that is pretty technical and the combo got a little warm with the 19 (Not to hot by any means...) in a 20 min main.

Good luck and let me know if you have any ?s on that combo.

Default SC 8.2e Conversion

I started my Short Course conversion project today. I built out my new 8.2e kit which will become my primary eBuggy. Once I get it to the track on Wednesday and dial it in, I will then convert my 3-month old 8.2e to the SC. I got all the electronics, and necessary parts, including the towers from Steve at SNR Graphite last week. I can't wait to have 4x4 SC based on this platform!

FYI... it looks like I got the updated version of the kit. The upper arms are reinforced, and I didn't have to get my dremel out in order to get the full droop like I did on my last kit. Hopefully, the diff cases are a little truer as well... but I did sand them down just in case to prevent the leaking I experienced on my old one.

Nice! I'm just finishing up my conversion now & I just ordered a new rc8.2e kit. I'm hoping I get 1 with the updated upper & lower arms!

the regular ones are fine as well. I run them. But I hear the +20 keep the rear end from coming up in the rough sections

nice sounds like a good motor what spur gear are you running cause i think the stock is a 46t and 18 or 19 is way too high for me i was thinking like 15 or 14
are you running the orion esc too?

Interesting. Def gonna hafta figure a way to pick up a couple sets then. My Ebug was pretty good this w/end, save for one particular spot, and that was precisely my issue.

Josh,

Below is a link to the thread where you can read all about them. There is a Mugen SC conversion thread on here somewhere as well. And yes, you can run them in an SCT class with a 2s Lipo and appropriate motor. The dimensions are almost there... we (on the thread) still have to figure out how to shave 1.5 mm per side on the front. I may have it figured out... will know after I finish my build and measure it. There is a guy at my track that races a Mugen conversion... if you read the thread below there are excerpts from the ROAR rule book that apply:
