Default Looking for a charger with specific features.

I need a charger but I have some specific requirements that MUST be met or it's useless to me. What I need is:

1s and 2s lipo and life.

8 amp charge, more would be nice.

Most important, MUST have adjustable max voltage capability. For instance, 4.25v per cell AND 4.20v. This is an absolute MUST HAVE, without it, it's useless to me.

Finally, really want to stay under $100 if possible. Will spend more if no other choice but want to keep it cheap.

Anything out there fit the bill?

I know that's not quite true. I do know of one charger that does it all except for a 6 amp max. Surely there must be something else out there that does?

Your biggest hurdle is adjustable cell voltage. Hyperion allows you to adjust it

they call it TCS capacity IIRC, my newer duo2 has it but my 5 year old inet doesn't. So you'll have to look around to find out.

Not likely to find many that will allow you to charge cells to 4.25v

Not sure why you would want to anyway

Cheers

Because ROAR allows it.

I was wrong, it's TVC, not TCS...

Hyperion says they can get you to 4.28 per cell..

Perfect, though I would really like to find a cheaper alternative. I know of one that I think can do it but the manual isn't real clear on it. Still, it's cheap enough that I might risk it and re-sell it if it doesn't.

I'm not sure which Hyperions have the TVS option, or if it can be added to all of them with a firmware update.

Duster 360 would likely know. I haven't seen to many posts from him lately though.

I often do (and agree with the idea). Unfortunately, not everyone else does.

When did ROAR change their voltage limit rule?

I was at the 2010 Nationals and the battery voltage limit was 4.2V/cell. Anything even slightly over was disqualified and they were teching the batteries prior to each heat.

Perhaps an iCharger. Believe they can go to 4.3V per. Higher power models too.

iCharger 106b

Hyperion, believe it’s the Net and Duo models with v3.2 firmware or higher that include the final voltage adjustment. Remember Hyperions require a balancer connection for the TVC to work, even with a 1S.
