I like the Hitec titanium servos because they are so indestructible. I have a Spektrum H6040(Savox 1258) on gas in my DM-1, and so far so good((Hobbico CS170 on steering) Fast and strong enough, at least for gas. Had an ACE DS1015 in my RC8B and it was great too..

Phil, those servos I recommended are very good choices IMHO. There are others, but those are two very good relatively affordable ones. Only question is if you want to run lipo receiver batteries at some point(for me anyway, unnecessary..)

I bought the Spektrum 6040 and 6030 for my SC8.

I've read a bunch but is it normal for them to make THAT MUCH NOISE when they're in use?!? It's crazy! ...but again, seems normal from everything I've read.

I'll give 'em a try tomorrow night and see how they go and more importantly if I'm capable of pulling off this install/swap! Wish me luck...

Guess it's not dead yet, just wanted to post a few pics of my latest acquisition but not enough posts yet..
Never really got into S.C. for some reason, now that I scooped this up I realize I should have gotten into them sooner. S.C. is a blast.

We try to keep it alive, but it gets real quiet every now and then....I just raced my SC8e, and I need to start figuring out some set-ups now.....it drives nice and smooth, but I traction rolled a good bit, and off the big jumps I caught a few sails in the air which lead to some serious cartwheeling landings......this truck is definitely TOUGH!!

Here is my SC8e racing in the RC PRO VA State Race at the Tiltyard in Dayton VA. This is mostly footage from the last triple A-main (last race of the day and series). It ran pretty well except for some traction rolling and driver mistakes from me. I'm used to racing vehicles with more air attitude, but I think with some body mods and practice hitting the down jumps right, I should be OK. I really had no chance of beating the top 3 guys in this E-Truggy class since my fastest lap was a second off of their average lap...LOL...Yep, I brought up the rear in this race, but it was fun anyway. I really enjoy driving this truck and still think it's the best short course truck out there. I wish this 8th scale SC class would take off, it would be the most fun class to race. Anyway, I'll be messing with set-ups and mods to make this truck even better. I started this video with my mistakes to show the toughness of this truck, then move on to the good footage. I should be it racing again in August, so we'll see if I do any better next time.....

I bumped my EPA/Travel/Motor Power to 85% for this race...

Ok, I've got a new set of SC8 wheels and also a new set of DE trinidad wheels. Can I use ANY 2.2/3.0 tire available? I'm confused...

I tried to ask a hobby shop about my dilemma and they were too confused to even help!!!! I have a set of factory tires that I'm going to mount on one set and I'm thinking about the ProLine Bow-Ties on the other (trinidad possibly?)... any thoughts or help on this? Remember, I'm not real bright so use small words! Thanks guys

I have some Proline Street Fighters that fit the Trinidads for my SC8.. Haven't glued them yet, but they fit..

For SC8 rims I've been told LRP/Nosram buggy VTEC tires fit, but haven't tried yet..

Yes any of the standard 2.2/3.0 tires will fit the SC8 wheels, you just have
to glue them up a bit different. The SC8 wheels have a different style front
bead to work with the stiffening ribs that are molded into the SC8 tires.
To make it work you need to do the following.

After you prep the tires and wheels pop the tires on the wheels WHITHOUT
the foams in place. Now with a small flatblade screwdriver push the tire
into the outer bead in the rim. No rubberbands at this point since the pressure
will cause the tire to keep popping out of the bead. Once you have
the outer bead in place and even all the way around you can very carefullywork
your way around the tire seperating it away from the rim enough to get glue in there.
Go slow and you should end up with the front bead seated evenly all the way around and firmly glued.

Once the front bead is done pull the tire inside out over the front of the rim
and put the foams on the rim. Then fold tire back over the foam into place.
At this point you will band it and glue it up the back bead just as you would
any other tire.

Been running SC8 wheel on my SC10 with 17mm adapters since dayone so
if you have any questions PM me.

Has anybody run an 18T clutch bell in their SC8?

I have a brand new Nosram(LRP twin) ZR.30X truggy engine, and I think it could handle the gearing easily.. Maybe even 19. In my experience even a decent .21 with a 17T is about right for quick bursts of acceleration on a track, but on pavement it winds out pretty quickly - i.e. it's still lowishly geared.. With the stock 16T it's practically a drifter.. I want something for nice long top-speed runs.., and I think an 18T or maybe even a 19T CB would be about right..

Anyway, will an 18T or 19T fit?

I don't see why an 18 or 19T shouldn't fit, with the 16T I have plenty of room to slide my OS Vspec back to accommodate the bigger Clutch Bell.....Give it a shot....

OK quick question here: I have an SC8 and want to update to the RC8.2 parts. What specifically is needed? This is the list I have, please correct me on anything.

SNR graphite SC8.2 Front and rear shock towers

Front and Rear lower Associated A-arms

Front ONLY Associated upper a-arms(not sure on this one)

Associated castor block (not sure on this one either)

Associated rear mud guards

Associated shock mount pins

Associated RC8.2 big bore spring kit (not sure on this one, I have the 16mm big bore upgrade shocks already)

Associated RC8.2 front and rear sway bar kits

Also there are 26mm and 36mm shock shafts available? do I need these?

And also some 8.2 front hinge pins as well? Again any help would be great here.

Not even sure if the suspension upgrade really is an upgrade but may just do the update.

It's a shame there was never a library/collection of SC8 setup sheets ever filled out. I for one would have found a ton of use with them...
