Zipper
Sent an e-mail to Kurt and I have my answer. I have been using the wrong crush tube. I need that and then hopefully I can quit destroying bearings.

Not to mention the time to do that, just might be worth more than $15. LOL
the last one i machined on a mill, got rear ended by a SC and broke. went to the shop and got a new brace, used a X-Acto and it took me all of 3 minutes to shave it down flat and was up and running again.

dont think ill mill them anymore since its so easy to shave with the razor.

Alright... will give it a shot. I am concerned about making it 100% level etc... as long as there is nothing wrong with going with the upgrade, I might do that first and keep the other as a spare.

A decent hand file and about 10mins does the trick as well.

threw on whites around..shock setup is 32.5 a.e in front with #2 piston
rear is 30 weight a.e with #2 piston...2 limiters.

it makes the car feel so soft...I may play with drilling a blank piston with 3 holes like kurt's setup....

ill get the right bits soon and start messing with that...never tried.

I have shaved and used both braces...plastic and carbon composite. The carbon brace allows the car to rotate more freely IMO, where as the plastic brace felt a little too planted.

If you are happy with your setup on the Losi springs, I wouldn't expect any advantage to moving to the Avids.

Avid is supposed to be selling collars here pretty quick, I have GHEA on my SC10 but my RB4.1 has the leftover Traxxis parts from my BB conversion on the short bus (needed the room from the GHEA collars), but nothing fancy on the RB4.1.
That pic is exactly why I have'nt tried BB springs. If it aint broke dont try to fix it. I will stick with the AE red fronts and silver rears.

i dont know what his vast selection of springs has to do with it but...if your set up feels dialed awesome.but "if it aint broke dont fix it" does not apply to this hobby or we wouldnt have 600 page threads about small tweaks. i wouldnt knock the BB tell u try them..if you have and dont like em compared to your red and silver please elaborate what u didnt like about the BB..not tryin to be a smart ass but your comment didnt do anything other than point out the guy really likes springs

I have driven a truck and a buggy with BB springs fyi. Did it feel better? Yeah but not so much better that im gonna go spend $$ on bb's and spend countless hours trying to match what I already have. I will wait for the AE BB's. Then I know they make the car feel the way it's meant to and they do all the testing.

The steering brace? Are you referring to the steering rack by chance?

they call it that in the manual..its the plastic stabilizing link that goes goes toward the bottom of the steering rack.if your lookin at it like a sandwich it would be the thing below the bottom bearings in the rack.the main pins (steering bolts) go thru em..i have mine in and im pretty sure there needed ..mine are in and everything is workin fine,,im pretty sure sure if you built it without those there would be too much bolt coming out toward the top plate,,if it bottoms out in the top plate i bet there will be some vertical slop..i hope thats what he is talkin about =]

Yes, you're simply replacing the stock bellcranks.

.i cant speak on truck..in my case instead of tryin to match what i "already have" even tho i swore it was dialed at the time. i took the advice of others faster and more experienced that i trust and tried different springs to see how it affected the car and how it affected me driving it.And i feel i learned alot. Alot of people better than me are still using standard ae springs also, but i dont let that steer me away from trying to get my car better or more capable for me,,i invested less than 20 dollars to first put BB springs on my buggy..and it was one of the best 20 dollars i feel i have invested in the car..that did lead me to keep tryin to improve my car (cause for me it was working) wich made me want to have variations of springs so i could see how i like em.prior to that i just ran what was "meant" to be on there. im not sure if i know if my car "feels the way its meant too" but i know its way more capable for me than throwing it down with the wc set up sheet..makin improvments in my car and havin people come check my car cause the say it looks dialed has been one of the most rewarding things for me..especially if you worked hard on it but your right the day the AE big bore shocks come out and i buy those i will be a even bigger fool ahaha
