LRP Competition TC-Spec problem,

Looks like it. Heck, who knows.
I guess I can always throw more money at it and see what happens.
Here is another symptom. While turning the steering, while holding the car off of the ground, I can hear the fan slow down. I can also hear the fan slow down when I tap on the bottom of the car trying to cause a short. So I guess I still will have to send in the ESC. I have been a flyer since the advent of brushless. I havent raced since they were brushed. I assume these ESC's have a BEC as well right? I would think that these ESC's should have enough power to run atleast 1 pretty beefy servo....of course that is a pretty beefy HEALTHY servo. So could the BEC be going bad as well? I guess my best bet is to just send it in, buy a back up and get a new servo.

Yes it has a BEC. Could it be going bad, no way to check, that I know of anyway. Personally I would try a different servo, if you don't have one borrow one from a buddy or another guy at the track. Some of today's high power servos (Savox are a big one) have a reputation for causing "brown out". You could try running a cap/glitch buster as well.
just trying to give you options to try before going through the hassle of sending it in.

Yeah, I appreciate it. I have a ton of servos, mounted in my planes.
I can get my hands on a servo. I even have a new Hitec Q-scale servo I could hook up to the RX and see what it is doing. Of couse I cant mount and drive it, but I can see if it draws the fan down like the other one. Especialy if I get it an artificial load.

Yes, but that brings up a question as a recovering RC Airplane addict...when there is a brown out with the Throttle, would it not effect the steering also on the car ESC? I know if I have a brown out on an airplane, I lose everything until it recovers, which is hopefully AGL.

Okay fellas, I finally got to race yesterday and I thought I would post a conclusion to my findings. I swapped out the servo and the ESC bench tested fine. Took it to the track and raced it yesterday and it ran fine all day long. I am guessing that the JR z9100s was over amping the ESC. Thats a shame too, that servo is fast and smooth. Still works great, just draws too many amps for that ESC when used in rapid back and forth operation...such as S-turns etc.. Bottom line, I did not have to send the LRP ESC in for maintenance.
